    Dire Avenger sprue

I have been unable to find a picture of the Dire Avenger sprue from GW:s site and in the picture associated with the plastic box all the models look like clones (as if there was no variation at all). So, the question is what is in the Dire Avenger sprue? How many body/leg variants (female/male)? Any additional weapons than just the avenger shuriken catapult?

As someone who owns something near to 60 dire avengers I believe I can answer this question.

10 sets of legs, 12 torsos (variants for the exarch)
13 heads (3 exarch heads, two with egyptian beards and one with no helmet)
10 standard rifles, two sets of double shurikens, 1 set each of diresword/pistol and shimmershield/PW.
Accessories ( 10 sets of shoulder-targeters & grenade/ammo pouches, 2 sets of robes for exarchs, Horus-re style marker)
    other things.

Yes the units themselves do suffer from clone-syndrome but that's arguably the point. It's hardly as if every spacemarine looks unique either. All parts are plastic so customisation is a realistic possibility.

    BTW; no female variants.

Thanks. Are there female torsos included or are they all male-type?

No disrespect intended, but google image search for 'Dire avenger sprue' and you get spoiled for choice. Where exactly were you looking?

Anyway, try this: DakkaDakka - Warhammer 40K Forums - Other Eldar rumors

If you scroll down you'll see a bunch of links to various pics of the sprue.

With the extra torso and heads I often buy an extra set of legs from eBay for a buck or two and voila...another Dire Avenger!
At the beginning of turn 1, I spray my opponent's army with the bacon flavored spray. Then I unleash my Boston Terrier Squiggoth who then devours their entire bacon flavored army! There is no defense against her cuteness! All are doomed!

While there are no female variants, gaurdian sprues come with female torsos and it should be an easy conversion if you want a female DA.

I think I'll settle with the explanation that the Aspect of Khaine the Dire Avengers follow is a male one and thus even female Dire Avengers wear male armor (and use copious amounts of sports-tape to fit their "gender-specific parts" into the armor ).
