My friend just got an email with GW's newsletter announcing the next big release in February. It's not Necrons. It's not even Grey Knights.
Thanks for dashing all my hopes, you pricks.
I saw that myself in an email and was very confused.
dont be fooled.. its just the second wave of blood angel models... cause the blood angel are already out.. so doubt they are retaking them out again...
Still, this confirms for us where GW's priorities lie, and it's definitely not on updating our codex, that's for sure. Even Grey Knights, which are just a SM offshoot, are getting ignored. Everyone figured after the Dark Eldar release, another SM chapter would be getting more attention, but everyone figured it was Grey Knights. This Blood Angels announcement is just a slap in the face, because if even the older SM-variant codex isn't getting any attention, what chance do the Necrons have?
Does god/the CEO of GW forbid that they release new models and a codex at/near the same time?
Also, they did put the grey knight codex up for print, and I have rarely seen this happen, so what does that mean?
Kinda sad that it's blood angels. Was planning on focussing on necrons again since i tought they got a reboot around feb.
Ill just focus on my nids and hopefully later 2011 we'll get the new necron stuff.
Its sucks I know more marines for the marine players, but there really isn't much we can do.
Aside from storming games workshops head office and putting them to the point and, forcing them to revise Codex Necrons, of course.
(Now theres an idea )
which is really sad because i'm just about to start collecting Necrons
I'm still pretty confident Necrons will get updated during 2011. At the moment the only forces on which we have credible rumours floating around are Grey Knights, Necrons and Tau. And the order of amount of rumours we have is the same. Grey Knights rumours are very well detailed so they are most likely the next codex. Tau rumours are very few and far between, so they are unlikely to be before Grey Marines or Necrons. So I will still hold my current estimation:
Codex: Daemonhunters (somewhere between Jan-April 2011)
Codex: Necrons (somewhere between April-July 2011)
everything else (after GKs and Necrons)
Oh, and releasing second wave and a new codex in same month is not out of question, but unlikely. However, telling people what to save their money for before xmas sales are over is bad business (except if its marines... promoting more marines is worth the lost dollar, apparently )
Revenant Moon Necrons: (W/L/D) 0/1/0 (6th edition: 13/2/2)(5th edition: 14/6/4)(3rd edition Codex: 16/4/7)
XIX Legion: (W/L/D) 0/0/0 (5th edition: 14/12/2)(5th edition Codex: 4/3/0)
Black Legion: (W/L/D) 1/0/0 (6th edition: 2/3/0)
Something Wicked... Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 10/4/1
The second wave of BA will be small, as most of the army is already available - and it'll be timed in with the Daemonhunters, as they're the other army that gets to use the Stormraven, which is one of the new models.
This will NOT affect codex releases, they'll still do 4 next year. One of which MIGHT be Dark Angels (expecting them to go a year without marines is like expecting me to go without weetabix) but I expect the other two will be out of Eldar, Tau or Necron. This leaves the third army of those, Witch Hunters, Daemons and Orks for 2012, probably followed by a 6th edition in 2013.
I am still betting on a "combined" WH/DH inquisition codex, a friend of mine says it may finally be the appearance of codex:xenos..... forget the Grey Knights, more to do with detahwatch.
Not sure what I believe anymore, too many rumours, too many denials. And someone said WFB dwarves in time for gamesday....plus there is some new stuff out for lizardmen for xmas I believe.
