Welcome to Librarium Online!
Been reading the codex a fair bit today (fridays are always busy) and have come accross lady Malys, she seems to be a bit of a mixed bag but i'd really like to use her, this is what i see:
She's not much in a fight, the potential for 8 P weapon attacks (4 basic, + 2 CCW + charge + the lady's blade) is nice... if it wasn't for the S 3, it means she's going to be hit back and with only a 4++ and T 3 she won't survive very well (though FnP and furious charge from pain tokens may completely change this)
Immunity to psychic powers is actually pretty nice with the current popularity of psykers (wolves, marines, BA, Eldar, chaos.. the list goes on), not being mind war'd is always a bonus.
Precognisant is golden... assuming you get to deploy first this ability lends itself to some serious tricks;
Heavily weight one flank with units, the enemy will hopefully deploy to compensate, dropping heavy weapons in firing lanes on that flank.... you then re-deploy and leave those firing lanes empty of targets.
Take a WWP, deploy a refused flank with 2 units on what should be your empty flank (preferably hellions, beasts or bikes, something fast that can use the webway), if the enemy deploys on that flank to counter pull your units into reserve and use the WWP. If they call your bluff and don't lay down any fire lanes on that flank re-deploy your refused flank to that side out of the line of fire.
There are just 2 simple tricks, no doubt there're many more.
My question is for her rather small point cost would you use her? if so in what kind of army? and what squad would you put her in? (tempted by wracks myself for the pain token).
Unfortunately I think Lady Maly's will simply be out classed by better HQ options such as 3 Haemonculus, The Baron, or The Duke.
However if I were to play her it would be with 3 razorwing fighters. So if my opponent steals the initiative, I simply redeploy my heavies into reserve
Her use depends in part on your opponent - if you deploy first and your opponent deploys based on your positioning you can get a lot of value out of the redeployment. On the other hand deploying second against a non scouting/infiltrating opponent or against someone who deploys second but in their own little world then you've gained nothing.
It would have been a far more powerful ability if it occurred after rolls to seize the initiative, but as it is you have a modestly capable cc character with a few abilities not otherwise available.
mrvegas - redeployment is done after both sides have deployed, seize rolls are made just before the player who chose to go first actually starts their first turn. You can't use precog to defend against it.

It's a pity you can't redoply after the steal, the combination with vect would be far to good to pass up!
I agree her precog only comes into play 50% of the time and that sucks, i'd probably use her if i wanted a nice cheap HQ and a break from the usual haemonculus spam (in honesty giving them a pain token to start removes the need for mostly any other HQ).
Ahh well another special character with wasted potential i guess.
