While we're waiting for GW to release new kits for the DE, perhaps some longtime DE collectors might recommend a few of the older models that might fit into the new look army.
I've picked up a Talos (which looks thematically similar to the new Kabalite warriors) and the female Haemonculus (no weapon options, but I want female HQs). My store has some old Incubi blisters that I've passed on, however - they look pretty lame.
I'd like to get an old Lelith but can't find any stores online or off that carry her.
I still think the Drazhar model is very usable - even his weapons look like the new demi-klaives.
I will probably use the female archon/dracon model as Lady Malys and I have a custom Dracite made out of her that I will probably convert shortly.
Lokhir Fellheart as the Duke - just cut off the small dagger and put a plastic blaster pistol there and bam!
I still think the old Haemonculi are both good as well as the old Urien Rakkarth model (which I use as a haemy with a wwp).
The old hellions might make a good beastmaster model but so do the new hellions.
As for the old Incubi, I remember them being the best models in the range, now compared to the new Incubi the old ones are looking rather craftworldly now that you mention it - but still an awesome model once painted.
I still like the old Lelith model better than the new one - I still think the new Lelith is a Hellbrone reject from the fantasy range, she was just too cool for fantasy I guess.
"On a hunch, I melted them down and inhaled the fumes and read the dark eldar codex again, AND FOUND A BUNCH OF NEW RULES HIDDEN BEHIND THE OTHER WORDS..." [Gardeth on modelling & interpreting the DE Codex]
I'd still use the dark eldar warrior box set, if I can find them.
