I'm in the process of starting a DE army. I already play nids, world eaters and necrons.
With the news of new models, there are some good bargains so I can get most stuff cheaper now rather than wait. I don't think things like raiders, talos, ravager and reavers will change an awful lot.
My basic 1500 list is heading towards the following:
1 ravager (maybe a 2nd later)
approx 10 reavers
2 walking warrior squads with 2 x DL's
2 x raider squads
maybe a wyche squad in raider (should it be 10 or 20?)
This covers the basic 1500 but the lord is undecided yet. Anyway, to the point. The HQ. I've read of 2 popular configs.
1. Archon/Drachon on reaver with agoniser as part of a reaver squad.
2. Archon/Drachon with incubi in raider
Can you guys tell me your preferences and why it is better? I'm not really interested in other Generals like Haemy or Dracite. Thanks for your opinons!

Well, it really depends on what flavor you prefer.
Both are excellent; for me personally, it's all taste and style, and I think the Incubi/Lord combo is more stylish and fluffy, but the Jetbike one can be a badass as well.
Never, EVER overload your Lord with wargear. Keep it to a minimum; newbies to DE will usually spend TONS of points on their Archons for nothing.
My suggestion - Shadowfield, Combat Drugs, Pistol, Agoniser
Variant - Shadowfield, Combat Drugs, Pistol, Punisher, Torm. Helm
The agoniser always wounds on a 4+, while the Punisher + drugs can get you up to S5, and you can still get the attack bonus w/the Torm. helm, which is excellent. A better combo against lots of infantry w/T4 or T5.
Anyways, back to topic. Incubi/Raider/Archon is deadly, but your opponents might be expecting it. However, I believe w/the new rules you don't have to tell your opponent what is in which Raider!!!
Jetbike Archon can either be fielded alone or w/a group of other jetbikes, prefereble 2 - 3 squads, all with Succubi w/agonisers. This is a bit more survivable than the Raider, and can be devastatingly effective, as they are fast as hell and get anywhere without movement hamperment, unlike the Raiders which blow up very easy.
Anymore questions feel free to ask.

welcome to the board
me. i am actually really looking forward to buying some new DE models when they come out with them
i like HQ choice number 2 as that is what i use most of the time as it just kicks all butt in the universe.
10 reavers might be pushing it a little bit there i suggest playing a few lowpoint games with reavers to see if you actuall like them or not
i only use reavers in squads of 3 with 2 blasters a piece to go tank hunting
I think the archon/dracon in a reaver is excellent. It provides your lord with speed, as well as a invlunerable save if he boosts. That with a jetbike squad is quite deadly and the squad with incubi on a raider is good, but is kinda expensive. Rocks when it gets into hth combat though.
10 reavers I like that. They are very tactically handy, so its good. Make sure you have 2 blasters in every squad as they make awesome tank hunters.
try getting 3 walking dl squads, they are really good.
Also, 2 wyche squads is nice, dont use raiders for regular wrarriors, they are awaste imo. Save it for the good troops.
2 ravagers and a talos is awesome! Try getting that.
Consider some haemonculus, they are really good. Anyhow, your army looks good. WElcome to DE

With v4 out, I started putting my Archon and Drachon both on skyboards. For my Archon this has worked out great as the skyboard allows her to jump out of CC. Going to rethink the Drachon though and use her points and HQs slot to put 3 Haemis back into my Raider squads. Without a shadow field, the Drachon isn't as effective as I'd hoped.
I was always a proponent of the power weapon Incubi squad. But with the new rules of screening with Raiders gone, my Lord usually didn't make it into CC.
personally I feel giving models on a jetbike an agoniser as they have s4 already so it's many times a waste of 5 points. Personally I prefer a lord with a raider squad, which hopefully can soon have pistols/ccws (heh i'm already stockpiling my bitz)

No it doesn't. The skyboard only allows use of the skyboard rules NOT the hellion special rules. For my Archon this has worked out great as the skyboard allows her to jump out of CC
Personally I tend to use the reaver archon w/agoniser, torm helm and drugs, in a big game I'll take a Dracon leading an incubi squad as well and in a HUGE game my incubi master comes with the inc squad.
