Ok so hi all basically I’m putting this up for a friend he wants to know two things
This is what he owns so far
10 jetbikes (4 aren't built)
52 warriors (2 have dark lances)
1 dark elder lord (the female one)
4 incubi( all with spears)
1 drazhar, master of blades
1 warp beast master + 3 beasts
Can he make a half playable list with what he has just so he can start learning the game
And also what should he get next this friend is fairly poor so yeah I don't think he entier would be receptive to redesigning his army
my own thoughts where I think he needs more raiders and he seams to have a lot of half finished units I was thinking he could proxy some warriors as witches to increase the diversity in his troops.
Ok thank you guys
Oh and not that it matters heaps his main enemy’s will be a guard army a few different space marines armies and my chaos space marines .
Interesting list of units, a big variety of units.
First thing i would do is at least buy 1 more ravager, and make sure both have 3 dark lances, both with flickerfields and night shields, these provide nice, anti-tank to cover the troops.
Next I would get a venom for the incubi and drazhar. (can be converted by using craftworld eldar vyper, adding 2 splinter cannons and spikey bits), it means they get in alot faster and gives you a bit more annoying firepower.
He would want more raiders, 2 doesn't cut it because they are usually the first thing a smart opponent will shoot for, i like to field around 5 in 1500pt+ games. Besides raiders provide alot of flexibility to the troops and with nightshields, flickerfields (splinter racks optional) it can make them a real pain.
6 jetbikes is usually all I need, i'd advise just upgrading them with a blaster and maybe caltrops or grav-talon. I don't use a squad leader it makes them pricey. If he can spare a fast attack slot split them into 2 units of 3. Just use these guys to turbo boost over enemy infantry and harrassing tanks remembering that they can always make an assault move, to get them back into cover after shooting, even when they aren't assaulting. Don't get these guys in combat.
He'll want around 6-7 mandrakes, best for assaulting light armoured infantry, or ranged specialists. real useful against guard.
The warpbeasts and talos are best deployed by webway portal. Give the haemonculus this upgrade, put him in a raider and drop the webway off first turn, where he deploy it usually depends on the army he's playing.
He needs more wyches you'll probably want at least 9 to have a hekatrixes join the lord, or 10 for a normal squad of them. He can deploy them by webway, but i prefer to put them in a raider.
Scourges are generally pricey, but if he really wants to use them, i'd go with giving them 2 haywire blasters or 2 blasters.
With the warriors i'd go with 10 man squads with a blaster and splinter cannon, mounted on a raider (maybe with splinter racks). A squad leader is generally optional, because he'll want them shooting most of the time, but if he goes with one, give him an agoniser and maybe a grenade pack.
I would say he should look at buying at least 2 raiders and 1 ravager. If he's really strapped for cash try converting a venom out of those unmade reavers. Won't look groundbreaking, but it should work.
whoops double post

He's definitely got enough to put together a decent 1000ish point list.
Archon (145) (goes with incubi)
-phantasm grenade launcher
Haemonculus (65) (goes with incubi or a warrior squad to give FnP)
5 Incubi (205)
-Klaivex (use Drazhar model)
10 Kabalite Warriors (185)
-Raider (generally you'll use the raider separately from the squad)
10 Kabalite Warriors (125)
-TL Haywire Blaster
Ravager w/3 Dark Lances (125)
Total 980 so you can either add some upgrades to something or throw in a couple more warriors. It's not a hyper competitive list, but it should definitely be enough to get him started.
The #1 thing he needs more of is raiders and ravagers if he's looking to expand beyond 1000 points. Other than that I'd suggest looking through the army list forum, because there are a wide variety of army builds for DE that can be effective so it's hard to say with 100% certainty what he should buy, it comes down to personal preference mostly.
The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed
