Last night Necrontyr expeditionary force AG1x4-37 in the Solstice System attacked an outlying position held by the female Terrans quantified as the "Sisters of Battle." The Sisters' positions and fortifications were scouted by scarab drones and Necrotyr Lord AG4 determined that the time to attack had come. Three squads of Necrontyr warriors proceeded towards the Sisters' positions. These nigh-indestructible warriors were accompanied by two wings of destroyers, one of the AG1x4-37 Artificer Spyders, the scarab scouts, and a mighty Monolith. AG4 was unprepared for the ferocity with which the Sisters' would respond.
Upon reaching the outskirts of the city, AG4 halted the advance and assessed the abandoned structures surrounding them to determine which would be their rally point. The sisters used this delay to their advantage. Having recognized the scarabs for the threat they foretold, the sisters had piled into their Rhinos and pulled two Exercist missle platforms into position. When they saw the Necrontyr units halt their forward advance, the Sisters drove their Rhinos out of cover and straight into the sight-lines of their enemy. Utilizing their smoke grenades and prayers for protection, the Sisters held against the firepower of the infamous Necrontyr Gauss Technology during their advance.
The pondering Necrontyr warriors recognized the outflanking maneuver the Sisters were using and attempted to adjust accordingly, but they could not out distance the Seraphim that were descending from the sky. As the Gauss bolts of his warriors bounced harmlessly off of the scraps of metal the Sisters call "body armor," and the Destroyers' cannons deflected off of the hulls of the Rhino transports they were targeting, AG4 could do nothing but watch as the Sisters employed multiple flame weapons bolstered by their sacred powers to melt his units into unmoving slag. Even the vaunted Resurrection Orb he carried was unable to stir more then a scattering of his troops from their places of rest.
To his right and left AG4 watched as two of his three units broke and retreated before the fury of the Sisters. One unit refused his orders and departed the battlefield entirely, greatly diminishing the remaining Necrontyr forces. AG4 ordered down all of the firepower at his command and watched in abject disappointment as no more then a handful of his enemy fell to the Waves of Gauss fire from the Monolith, Destroyers, and remaining Warriors.
The Seraphim Superior, seeing her advantage, pressed forward. Falling upon the unit of Necrontyr warriors that had been teleported out of hand to hand combat, she called upon her master to bless her squad's weapons with the last of his powers. Sheets of flame rolled over the abominations in front of her, and with a scream her Seraphim charged into hand to hand combat.
AG4 stood smoking on the battlefield. The flames that had annihilated his Warriors had washed over him with limited effect thanks to the Phase Shifter he had installed prior to leaving the Tomb Ship. He heard the Artificer clicking its disappointment from beside him as together, they watched their single remaining warrior hold its ground in hand to hand combat against the Seraphim Superior and her "Angels." He raised his head to the sky to single for Strategic Phase Withdrawl and saw that his failure had been witnessed by the Great Deceiver, who was hovering in the distance to observe the battle.
With a wave of his hand the Deceiver recalled the Necrontyr forces to the orbiting Tomb Ship. The energy being made a mental note to tweak AG4 in order to keep such a disappointing engagement from occurring again. With a final glance at the triumphant Terrans, the Deceiver left the battlefield to the victors.
(Battle notes - My rolls could not have been worse in this fight. Total of 6 pen/glance hits with the destroyers and monolith all of which I rolled a 1 or 2 except for one wrecked result on a rhino. Rapid Fire from two warrior squads into the Seraphim resulted in 2 wounds out of 40 shots. Both wounds were saved. My monolith succeeded in killing a total of nothing, and out of a total possible 35 WWBB rolls, I successfully made 10. Just the way the dice crumble nothing I could do but laugh when I rolled triple snake eyes on my WWBB for my last three destroyers.
Results- Phased out at the end of turn three. A greater respect for rending flamers. Had a hell of a good time, looking forward to a rematch down the line. Victory - Sisters)

I really liked how you made a story out of the battle report, a nice touch! I feel your pain on bad rolls!
