Welcome to Librarium Online!
Got a question for y'all.
Let's say I marker light a space marine unit of 8. Then I use the 2+ marker for the hits on the ion cannon. Do I get 2+ to hits on the 3 ion cannon hits of one 2+ and a 3+ for two more. I'd like to know because if it's the latter, I have some nasty surprises on my next battle with space marines. MAUAHAHHAHA
All three shots from the ion cannon that shooting phase will hit on a 2+. Please try to improve your grammar in the future.
all he did was misspell 'or' i've seen much worse
For if one gave, he dared assert
He knew that man was repentant
For many a man is so hard of heart
He cannot weep even though he suffers sorely
Nothing wrong with your spelling (Y) .
And I'll answer your question, since the other guys only looked at the spelling .
A markerlight hit allows you to fire a single weapon that will hit on 2+.
So the Ion-cannon will need three times a 2+ to hit and a twin-linked weapons would (if the first hit-roll was failed on a 1) need a 2+ for the second hit.
Please tell me more about the nasty suprise you're planning.
sorry about the grammer guys. I was at work and needed to finish the post fast.
So... it works like that hm? *claps hand together and rubs them around and giggles maniacally*. I'll post some more nasty ideas as they come to my head. Thanks for the info guys.
Indeed, so if you had 3 Hammerheads each with an Ion-Cannon and scored 3 markerlight hits on a Space Marine Bike Squad, you could use those three Markerlight hits to guide your 3 Ion-Cannons thereby getting 9 Shots all hitting on 2+, wounding on 2+ and negating their 3+ armor save.
yeah but you just spent 400+ plus points to kill 3 bikes.
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
9 shots that hit on 2+ and wound on 2+ and negate their target's armor will statistically kill 6.25 bikes.
How much is a bike? ~35 points? I don't know, I don't play marines. Assuming they're ~35 pts, that's somewere between 210 and 245 points.
400 points that can kill 245 points each turn? I'll take it. The Ion-Cannon is oft underrated in my opinion... especially against Marines, Necrons, and light vehicles. In fact, an Ion-Cannon has a better chance of killing a Rhino than a Rail-Gun does!
I beleive, sadly that your idea falts on the problem, That Marker Lights only work on a single target.
If im wrong, please tell me, But im under the understanding that you Mark a Spacemarine Unit, and Let your Hammer Head fire its Ion Cannon, that it will get the 2+ Hit on the 1st spacemarine it kills, or other hits on the same one, until it dies, but as soon as the shots go to other spacemarines in the unit, its the 3+ hits, cuz the marker light is only one 1 target.
I would love some clarification here, cuz if im wrong, and it effects the whole unit, this would be a nice way to deal with Space Marines and Necrons.
you markerlight the entire squad, so any multi-shot weapons will shoot the entire squad on a 2+ not just one model.
