    Shattershard and other haemy business

I love the shattershard and find it quite useful. I was just wondering what other players verdict on this weapon is and what you consider the best set up is on your haemonculus or Ancient haemonculus.

Shattershard is nice and I'll slip one in occassionally. I most often run my Haemie in with my Incubi and Archon, he just stays in the car when they get out and takes pot shots with his hexrifle.

I'd much rather have a chance at destroying multiple deadly models with shattershard then .000001% chance of killing a MC with hexrifle.

I put one in every list where I take a Haemy, granted it replaces a liquifier because they are wwp deployers but most often they only get 1 shot off anyway.

Although it may have been a waste I ended using it last against a Space Wolf player who was rolling red-hot with the dice. The Shattershard used his own high rolling against himself when I was able to lay the shattershard on a squad of Gray Hunters - in his "hot" rolling he failed 5 out of 6 toughness tests, take that for rolling a bunch of "6's"!

I will also admit that the Haemy would have had another chance to use a liquifier if he had one but killing 5 marines with it made its points back 4 times over.

As I tend to put them with the Wyches I usually equip them with Liquifiers and Agonisers.

I've used the Shattershard twice. The first time I took it to use on the Eldar HQ choice we faced to negate their invulnerable saves. The second was in a version of the Evacuation scenario in the rule book so that I could target and remove the Genetor directly without having to attack the Wraith guard he was surrounded by.

Cheers guys it's good to get an idea of how people use haemies. Django I do put mine in wyches too but i leave him in the raider. The no fleet rule is a pain, and with I4 and no decent armour save he's the first dead unless he's an ancient(I5).

As it stands, in lower point games where the haemy is a main source of hurt, he gets the agonizer/liquifier, and generally goes with wracks for the FnP/FC bonus.

At higher points where he is basically being used for his pain token, he will grab a hex rifle. This is mostly due to the fact that with a lucky roll it can remove an eternal warrior with 1 shot (unless it was FaQ'd). Also it will take the punch away from some squads since a sniper chooses where to allocate the wound in a unit, taking out things like chaplins and champions.

While this would be nice it simply isn't true. All a sniper weapons does is wound on a 4+ and is rending and pinning.

Oops. Yeah, I mixed up my sniper rules with the marksman rule from the assassins. It would make more sense that way, considering snipers usually pick targets rather than wildly shooting into a unit. Oh well. Good catch.
