Hey All. Going up against Nurgle marines tomorrow 2/10/2011 for the first time. Any advice?
Wrecked em. 5 objective game 1850pt game.
1x2 tomb spyders
necron lord w orb, shifter, gaze, scythe
1x8 nurgle csm bikers
2x10 nurgle csms in rhinos
1x5 termy squad with Typhus in LR with 2x TL lazcannons
my deploy looked basically like this. I deployed as far up as I could while also ignoring the objectives to start.

T1 CSM : Rhino1 rides up the middle and pop smoke. Rhino 2 rides up the right, parks on an objective pops smoke. Bikes turbo into position in front of Monolith 2 (moving around the flank). Obilts immobilize Monolith1. Land Raider shakes Monolith2 Can't shoot next turn.
T1 Crons : Wraiths boost up right to next batch of cover. In range to assault Oblits next turn. Destroyers move up left flank, phalanx marches 6in forward. Monolith 2 tank shocks lead bikers, moves into terrain gap to limit flanking ability. bikes have to move in front of phalanx to maintain coherency. destroyer group1 shoots rhino2. shaken, weapon destroyed. destroyer group 2 shoots rhino1, can't shoot next turn. Monolith1 whips rhino2, immobilized. warriors RF bikers, 3 dead. TS1 and TS2 poop scarabs. This completely blocks Phalanx from frontal assault by bikers.
T2 CSM : Rhino1 moves up 10, parks on middle objective. Rhino2 stays immobilized. Oblits + LR shoot Monolith 2, no effect. Bikers assault Monolith 2 with power fists, no effect.
T2 Crons : Wraiths move up right flank in range of Oblits. Destroyers on left adjust back for LoS on bikers. Monolith 2 tank shocks bikers for 3" movement they fall back instead of trying a Death or Glory. This moves M2 into GFA range on Rhino1, 2, and bikes. Phalanx moves up 3", limited by position of bikers. Monolith 2 GFA does nothing all around. Dest Group 1 shoots rhino1, no effect. Dest Group 2 shoots rhino2, shaken. (my destroyers were USELESS this entire battle) Warriors RF bikers, 1 dead. Wraiths assault Oblits, 1w on O1, all saves made for Wraiths. TS2 assaults rhino1, no effect.
T3 CSM : LR adjusts towards rhino2. squad in rhino1 fires plasma at TS2 scarab pasted, 1 wound on TS2. LR shoots Monolith 2, can't shoot. Bikers assaults TS1, scarab pasted, 1 biker down, 1 wound on TS1. Wraiths land 10 wounds on Oblits, fails 3 rolls, Oblits dead. Wraiths consolidate towards Rhino2 (still immobilized)
T3 Crons : Monolith 2 adjusts to allow teleport room for following turn as I cannot guarantee victory in Biker fight with TS1 and there is no room to move my Lord out of coherency and into combat. Dest group 1 and 2 adjust for LoS on Rhino2. TS2 adjusts to assault Rhino1 again. Wraiths move to cover all hatches on Rhino2. Dest group 1 and 2 shoot Rhino2 (trying to destroy it in advance of Wraith assault), no effect. Monolith1 whips Rhino2 direct hit, no effect. Warriors 1 and 2 shoot Rhino 1, glance to wreck. CSM disembark in full cover from warrior group 3. 4 warriors in war group3 have LOS on Rhino2, RF has no effect. Bikers finish off TS1. TS2 poops scarabs. Wraiths assault Rhino2, Vehicle Explodes result. 1 CSM dies. TS2 fails distance check to assault through terrain on CSM from Rhino 1.
T4 CSM : LR disembarks Typhus and friends. Bikes move into assault range Warrior Group1. LR shoots M2, no effect. Bikes shoot WG1, no effect. CSM2 shoot Wraiths, no effect. Typhus and friends shoot Wraiths, no effect. CSM1 shoot TS1, paste scarabs. Bikes assault WG1, 4 dead warriors no dead bikers, pass morale. Typhus and friends assault Wraiths, Typhus and Wraiths go simultaneously. 1 dead Termy, Typhus wiffs completely. 3w from power fist Termy, fail all three saves. Squad consolidates to spread out.
T4 Crons : Teleport WG1 from bikers 1 warrior fails WWBB. Now 4" past midline on CSM side. Destroyer Groups adjust on left flank for LoS on remaining bikers. Monolith 2 adjusts facing of portal. WG1 moves towards CSM1. WG3 with Lord moves towards SW objective, moves into scoring range. WG2 moves towards middle objective. TS1 adjusts to allow assault on CSM1 through terrain. Destroyer group 1 and fires on Bikers kills all but squad leader, who makes 3 saves. Destroyer Group 2 fires on Biker squad leader, leader makes 9 saves. WG3 rapid fires BSL, leader makes 3 saves. WG1 RF CSM1, no effect. WG2 RF CSM1, no effect. M1 whips CSM2 scatters onto single Termy, no effect. Monolith 2 whips Typhus and friends, scatters off, kills a single CSM from CSM1. TS1 poops scarabs, assaults CSM1, TS1 and scarabs are pasted.
T5 CSM : Biker Squad Leader moves into assault range with Dest Group2. Typhus and friends move back to LR. CSM1 stays in cover by middle objective. CSM2 (on my advice) congos to take two objectives on right flank. CSM2 fires on WG1, no effect. Biker Leader fires on Dest Group2, no effect. CSM1 fires on WG1, no effect. LR shoots Monolith 2, can't shoot. Biker Leader assaults Dest Group2, tied combat, no wounds.
T5 Crons : Teleport Dest Group2 to Monolith2. Necron Lord moves to center objective. WG3 secures SW objective. WG1 and 2 move to Center objective. WG1 is in assault range of CSM1. Monoth 2 adjusts. Dest Group1 and 2 fire into CSM1 at center objective, kills all but 2. Monolith 1 whips CSM2 (konga group), scatters off. WG3 rapid fires BAMF Biker Squad Leader, he finally dies (Necron Lord suggest promotion of unit to enemy commander). WG1 moves towards CSM2 across in front of LR rapid fires CSM1, kills 1. WG2 assaults last CSM1. Necron Lord is out of range. no wounds, ties combat.
T6 CSM : Typhus and friends get out. Typhus moves on WG1, Termies move on Dest Group2. LR shoots at Monolith 2, can't shoot. Termies shoot at Dest Group2, no effect. Typhus shoots at WG1, kills 1. Termies Assault Dest Group2, 1 Dest down, pass leadership. Typhus assaults WG1, kills 4, pass leadership. CSM1 in assault with WG2, tied combat no wounds.
T6 Crons : Teleport Dest Group2 to Monolith2. Dest Group2 moves away from Monolith2, Monolith2 Tank shocks Termies to force move them into LoS of all destroyers. All destroyers fire on Termies, no effect. Monolith 1 whips CSM2 (Konga line), scatters off. Necron Lord assaults CSM1, pastes remaining troop with Scythe.
Game Ends - Tied Two objectives held by each side.
Notes : I decided at turn 4 to work towards a tie as opposed to a win. My opponent was a really good guy, fun to play against and made some mistakes. I moved my warriors appropriately to keep it exciting, but could have easily contested with my destroyers or warriors for the win on turns 5 and 6. Overall a really fun match.
