Morning all, ive bought a small DE army for the time being, which funnily enough comes to exactly 1000pts. To fill the remaining 500pts that's allowed for armies in my local GW ive come up with two different lists.
First one is 10 Hellions and 9 Reavers which a nice and fast section of the army and makes it overall fast as i have 3 raiders in the 1000pts. But ive only got 3 anti-tank weapons - the dark lances from the 3 raiders. So i was thinking that i could change the remaining 500pts to 5 Hellions, 3 Reavers and 2 Ravagers, that way my dark lances goes from 3 to 9.
p.s the 1000pts is Archon with 5 Incubi and 2x 10 Wyches with 3 Raiders.
You will always need a lot of anti-tank, so I would definitely recommend you to get the 2 Ravagers at the very least. They're one of the best anti-tank options we have, really. After that, You will probably need some more troops. 2 units of wyches aren't really fantastic at capturing objectives, and chances are they will get wiped out rather often. Thus, I'd recommend you to get some warriors with a dark lance. They can stay back a bit and shoot tanks and hold objectives while the rest of your army advances, if you have the points, a raider for them would probably be a good investment as it gives them great mobility and another dark lance.
Ill have to look at the list to see how much 5 hellions are and 3 reavers, remove one and see if i can get a full unit of warriors in.
Well it would be nice to know a bit more detail on what you have. I'll point you out what I think seems to be good deals in the codex. But all in all be sure to have a mix of everything and really cover the anti-mech

However here is what i think will make it in almost any list
Baron is good deal for the points and stealth is awesome
Haemonculus with Liquifier gun is a great deal. great when attaching to a unit for FnP
1 Squad of Incubi or Grotesques seem like a good deal (only 1 squad since the cost is high)
2 squads of true born (4 trueborn with blasters in a raider or 2 with SC in a Venom with 2 SC)
Warrior squads and a raider (Give one a blaster and SC)
Wracks with Liquifier Guns in a raider (this is an awesome unit for controlling objectives. especially with a HQ attached)
6 Jetbikes (2 with Blasters/Heat Lance)
5 Scourges (2 with Haywire Launchers) Simply put the most effective option to nullify mech with armor 12 or higher
3 Ravagers & Flickerfields (Tried and tested)
2 Razerwings with SC upgrade & Flickerfields & 1 Talos with Chain flails / Heatlance
(My favorite option. hold the razorwings in reserve and watch the amount of destruction from 4 large template plates, 1 SC and 2 DL decimate a squad of enemy infantry)
1 Archon with 5 incubi and a raider
2x 10 wyches, each one with raider
Options for what i might do
10 Hellions and 9 Reavers to make it 1500pts
5 Hellions, 3 Reavers and 2 Ravagers
3 Reavers, 2 Ravagers and 10 warrirors.
