So I was sitting here at my computer and I got to thinking. I was wondering what other people's favorite tyranid might be and why. Now I don't mean just by the rules. I was thinking more along the lines of lore and/or modeling. It might even be a little more obscure like the dominatrix. A massive synaptic creature from the epic game that only got a little box of info without rules in the codex. Anyways, here mine.
My favorite has to be the Hive Tyrant. This guy just marches/flys around the battlefield with a keen alien intellect. He shares a closer synaptic link to the hive mind that allows him to command the massive horde of gribblies around him. This just seems pretty freakin sweet! Not to mention, he has had a variety of different models throughout the years that have all looked awesome in their own way. I'm just glad he has good rules because I would have been using him either way.
well... I really love Doom of malan'tai because he just walks around and kill people just by looking at them. How cool isn't that? and to kill a hole craftworld by himself is just awesome but I also want to say hormagaunt because that is what comes to my mind when I think of nids. How hundreds of thousands hormagaunts swarm over the enemy and just eating everything in there way.
Tervigon. Never had so much fun modelling it! The ability to FNP/spawn makes it a blast to play in games to.

Mine would have to be the trusty old Carnifex. He's actually the unit that got me to choose nids over Chaos Daemons when I was coming back into the hobby a couple years ago. Once the terror of the tabletop, this titan has toppled, taking a hit this edition. However, I almost never leave home without at least one of these big boys in my list, and they hardly every lead me astray. Long live the fex!
Would have to be a tie between the Swarmlord, who is sheer badassery with his four boneswords, and the Deathleaper, who has some hilarious special rules and good stats, even though I never seem to make use of her that well in every game I've tried.

It would have to be the Genestealers or Zoanthropes. Genestealers are just so muck fun to use and can relly turn a game around, Zoanthropes are awesome and look awesome.
In general, a human factor is a physical or cognitive property of an individual or social behavior which is specific to humans and influences functioning of technological systems as well as human-environment equilibriums.
Lictor, Lictor, Lictor. The model is so cool, like a treble shot of Genestealer with a stealth mixer!
I love the 'hide behind enemy lines for months at a time' idea, and one of the books I read recently, possibly 'Thousand Sons' or more likely one of the earlier books had an unnamed Tyranid fiend that wiped out an entire outpost and then led the Tyranid horde to the group of escaping humans.
Gameplay-wise they are not fantastic, but the rending flesh hooks come in handy when there is a pesky tank or dread laying down fire out of your shooting range.
Definitely would have to say that the Doom of Malan'tai is one of my favourite models. It has some awesome conversion opportunities, and it is good in the game. I like the look of Zoanthrope too.
Another one of my favourites, even though it is crap in-game, is the Pyrovore. It just looks so cool, massive Flamespurt on its back, and just its position is great. I also like the Swarmlord for conversion opportunities.
++Rep for Mads. Good drawing!
