Okay, serious question here - eventually. I have seen many people from several forums complain about various cheesey armies. Personally I don't think there is such a thing.
My view, is that when people cry "Cheese" for anything other than a Camera; it's normally because they have come across an army/troop combination, that they don't know how to cope with or havn't prepared for.
My question here people is whether 2 Winged Hive Tyrants are cheesy. I already have one and am looking at getting another but don't want to ***** people off that I'm likely to play.
I actually played against 2 HT in a 1000 pt game against my Marines recently and the Nids got slaughtered. He got one into CC with 1 wound remaining. A lucky swipe of a Power Sword and it was all over. Needless to say the two HT were almost half his army in pts. Because I knew what he was doing I just geared up my force to deal with it. A dealt with it I did.
Anyway enough rambling. Your thoughts Gentlemen? (and Gentlemeness'
Don't worry, it's only kinky the first time...
well, as i explained in the other thread, I don't think much of it (but that's only my opinion), I would like people to focus more on what they'd actually field in the 41st millennium than on what's really good in the game. Learn to loose people, as long as you've both had some good fun, nobody looses
besides with such an army, you would have used about half the points available
Can you buy TG for a winged tyrant, then deploy the guards and deep strike him?
"I keep the bible in a pool of blood,
so that none of it`s lies can affect me."
you can buy them for it though the TG form a unti with the HT and such must be deployed with him.
But you choose to leave the TG first turn and let them be joind by a carnifex
are you crazy?focus more on what they'd actually field in the 41st millennium
it's a game... they field whatever you want them to field. if 2 tyrants works, then that's what the tyranids would use

Im going to get myself another winged HT so I can field 2, but I wouldnt use 2 in 1000 pts... they'll be too big points sinks and it doesnt make much sense to have 2 HT with that few points anyway, IMO. But in 1500 pts and other I believe 2 HT would be a real good choice, especially 2 winged ones!
Aslong as you stick to the usual 500pts per TMC you should do pretty well, still im sure there will be a few annoying people who would call it cheesy but these people are just saying it because they are scared basically and may not be able to deal with one Winged HT never mind two!
Also note that if you use 2 Winged HT you may also need to get a brood of warriors or zoanthorpe with synapse to keep those weaker models in synaptic range, also hive node your gaunts as you will still most likely stray from synaptric range, best of luck with the new HT and I hope few p[eople complain about cheese!

not exactly cheese, just...i don't know, I just don't like it.
you hardly ever read some fluff about CSM where they attack with 9 obliterators, or the SM having a zillion Dreadnoughts, cause they're "soo good"...
Likewise I feel the Nids would take a more balanced force, sure 2 tyrants are ok, but you think they'd both have wings, leaving the rest of the bugs to fend for themselves? Maybe they would in a special scenario with lots of gargoyles as support, in a lightning fast raid of some sorts, but on the whole I kinda like the overall approach better. Just me man, do whatever you like, but I'd be more than happy loosing with my balanced army to another balanced army, cause we'll most likely have fun. Don't think I'd bother playing against the "has-to-win-at-all-costs" guy, no.
...man, I'm ranting again...
I've just bought another tyrant, but thats for use in 2000pt games, otherwise it would just annoy everyone. I'm trying to make my tyranids more balanced so they can fight other balanced armies in our campaign. but anyone with a powergaming army can go fight my eldar instead, built purely to ***** people of.
i think that having 2 winged tyrants in 1000 pts is a bit low, and sometimes stupid ^_^ but having 2 in larger games is fine by me. no one would really call that cheesy. (except some kid at the store who plays necrons who's suddenly lost the ability to make wwb rolls and is losing warriors like flies because you just charged both your tyrants into his front line (this hasn't actually happened, just hypothetical))
