Welcome to Librarium Online!
So I'm looking at the codex and its clear Warriors are great for holding DE objectives since they have the ability to shoot further than any other troop choice. Now the question is what is the best choice to get into CC with the enemy. Is it Wracks or Wyches?
Have T4, FnP, poisoned weapons, and the Liquifier Gun (Best gun available when you need to kill enemies in cover). Stronger ability to hold objectives.
Higher I, Assault/Haywire Grenade options (great for vehicles when needed), Good options like Gauntlets and Impaler. Perhaps better in combat but only if they get there in tact. High upside if you can get FNP (through Haemonculi/Killing enemy unit) and be in combat.
What do you think is the better choice for assaulting?

They are both pretty good units but I had to go with Wyches on this one. There are 2 things you forgot to mention about Wyches, Fleet and Combat drugs. Those 2 options imo just give them more pro's than the Wracks.
Oh and plus all the Wyches have splinter pistols (except for the ones with special weapons) and they come stock with plasma grenades, to me that's better for use against enemies in cover since most the enemies in cover are useually shooting units anyways and would like to avoid CC.
I say Wracks for objectives. T4 and starting with FNP makes them more durable, and durability is more important then anything when holding objectives. Fleet may help you get to one but doesn't help hold it. Combat drugs mostly add to offensive power and not defensive power. If you can get them up to fearless they'll be pretty amazing I think.
That said: they'll never be terminators, nothing in our army will. Park a raider in front of them and hope for a wrecked result. Make cover.
I am just a very offensive player, why hold objectives when you can just wipe out all of your opponents troops?
But I see your point, It depends on if you want a more durable unit or a fast hitting unit.
I haven't used wracks so i can't comment on them. But i run a squad of wyches and I love them. They've come through for me every game. Well.. except for when 5 of them got incinerated in a raider. BUT besides that they're great haha.
That shardnet is great for enemies w/ not so friendly weapons.
9 Wyches: 1x Shardnet, 1x Agoniser, Haywires + Haemonculous with Flesh G or Agoniser and Liquifier. Raider with NS and FF, sometimes sails too.
They do different things really. Wyches are there to tie up nasty things and wracks are there to kill whole sale troops/ Take a unit of both, they cost about the same depending on equipment choices
"My Word is Iron"
"Show me your Friends, and I'll show you your Future"
I personally like Wracks a lot better.
One thing no one is pointing out is that if the squad gets stuck in an explosion, every wound (which would happen on a 4+ to wyches) is almost an auto-kill to wyches. And if the wyches are shot at by anything it tears them to shreds.
I'm not saying that the Wracks have it a ton better, but if the tide of battle goes poorly at least the wracks have an okay chance to be there next turn.
Remember that if there is no saving throw, there is no FNP, so wracks are useless against nearly all shooting unless they're in cover. Dark Eldar should be played offensively anyway. If it isn't designed to attack then my opponent doesn't need to shoot it and if my opponent doesn't need to shoot it he'll shoot something that I need(or would prefer to have around).
Fetch me another plaything. This one seems to have broken- Urien Rakarth
Wytches are designed to take on nasty elite CC enemy units, and to stall characters and MCs.
Wracks are designed to kill infantry and MCs as well as surviving more firepower.
So I think a mix of both is best, and although I havent tried out the wracks yet I beleive that they seem like a better choice on paper. Although fleet, grenades, and that dodge save make it a very close call.
