There are many ways, how do you use them?
I have tried a unit of 10 in a raider with 2 liquifier guns with pretty good success. Great at holding objectives and those liquifier guns are just awesome
I used a unit of 5 in Raider just for filling my list and grabbing objectives. Even a unit of just 5 is very resilient when in cover and going to ground.
I'm going now for the 10 man unit because I want to used them more aggressively.
How significant of a difference is adding a Haemonculi to a squad of wracks?
Also, would it be a good tactic to use 4 wracks in a venom with 1 haemonculus? This would be like the 5 man blaster squad in a venom to field a lot of splinter cannons, the difference being the wracks would be a bit more survivable and could actually help out in an assult
Personally 4 Wracks with an Heamy is far too less to make an impact. With 5 wracks you can add a LG, which could have a larger impact than Poisonous S4 attacks for one CC phase on 4 guys.
If you want to make the most out of that, add the heamy to 9 wracks. But personally I feel 10 wracks with 2x LG is strong enough, if they gain a second pain token, that would be great but not necessary.
I've tried them in a bunch of different ways but never less than 6 I believe. A break down:
10 wracks on foot, nothing added. Used as an escort to a Haemy with a wwp they were sometimes the only 2 units on the table. Along with Urien in the list, this squad was aslo gifted with an additional token to make them fearless - in 2 separate games I have used this squad and them being the sole target on the field, they have always survived the first turn and have allowed the Haemy to drop the portal on turn 1 flawlessly. Thereafter, they do become a small scoring unit in which the Haemys does break off from taking 2 of the tokens with him. Love the squad, wouldn't hesitate putting it in a competitive list.
In lists with 2 WWP's I also use a raider based Wrack squad of about 6 and sometimes 8 wracks. I normally take the additional liquifier but the Acothyst isn't always there (and when there was I usually do not give him anything) - usually this squad is sacked for points as I build the rest of the list. They are the aggressive wwp deployers so they too get the gift from Urien to make them fearless but this squad just gets munched by losing their raider and being shot to death. I want to say they give the Haemy enough time to deploy the WWP but often do not live past the 2nd or 3rd turn - very disposable, very unpredictable.
10 Wracks, 2 liquifiers, Acothyst with an agoniser on a raider. Used mostly in my "Coven" themed lists they are either working independently looking for unsupported units or as a last turn objective grabber. In other roles I have used them as a screen unit for escorting Urien and his grots this unit has always done well in performing their roles. The agoniser is debatable but I do happen to get good results in every other game. Sure, some games it was a waste or fails to produce and in others it did more than expected. I dunno, I am so used to CC units like this to have at least a power weapon so I do think they are naked without one. Still, I only use this unit in "Coven" themed lists so they do not make every list I use but they are not bad.
10 Wracks, 2 liquifiers, Acothyst with an agoniser on foot. I was using this unit earlier this year as a WWP and their purpose was simple, come out of the wwp, run through cover and take an objective on dangerous ground. The unit did do well in one game where they flamed and charged a simple 5 man terminator squad and easily defeated them but in other games they often went to an objective and just camped there wasting the liquifiers and the agoniser. Again, this squad was used mostly in "Coven" themed lists with Urien but never in regular Kabal lists - too expensive to just camp objectives.
That pretty much outlines the 4 basic setups I use with wracks. I am wondering if a hexrifle or something could be added to the group but lately I haven't been playing Coven themes.
