I have been been debating getting some harlequins for some time - I'm a fairly new player and so far have pretty much basic stuff. Basically the back story for harlequins is too immense to ignore, and they look AWESOME. I've been reading Codex: Eldar and I think it's possible to have the following make up of unit for harlequins?
1x Troupe Master w/ Kiss
1x Shadow Seer w/ Kiss (+ added extra stuff as standard)
4x Harlequin w/ Kiss
2x Harlequin w/ Kiss and Fusion Pistol
That's all well and good. But can some one give me some advice to whether:
1. It's worth pursuing this unit as a viable option?
2. How I go about converting harlequins so that they ALL have kisses and that two have both harlequin's kiss (HK) AND fusion Pistol?
You get two HK in the standard box + Troupe Master (without HK) + 1 with Fusion Pistol... And you can buy a blister of 2 HK harlies off the website. Shadow seer has it's own blister too (without HK) Can you give me some advice how I should set about conversions so I can set up the unit above. I haven't bought the models yet, so cheapest route is best please!?
1. Eight of 'em is sort of an odd number. Six and ten being more common. I could see a unit of eight, but it would probably be as a result of fitting in under a certain point ceiling and deciding it's better to cut there. But starting off a bit cheaper to try 'em out is fine too.
2. Well, one option is trying to trade some stuff with other players or split purchases. For example there may well be someone else who would want to split the 2 model fusion pistol pack. And some people do run harlies without the kisses (mostly to have some cheaper models to suffer the first deaths, or for wound allocation shenanigans. )
But if you're converting, a HK is basically a tube, a crystally power source, and the grip. Given the lists I'm seeing here and at my game store, there are heaps of bright lances sitting around from wave serpent kits. Probably the easiest kisses would be a couple snips on a BL, and than just any bit of plastic to connect the remants of the sword grip they're already holding to the thing.
As for the fusion pistols, they look pretty much like the front of a fusion gun attached to the back of a shuri pistol. So I'd suggest doing just that. Fire dragons are pretty popular these days, and each pack should have an extra fusion gun unless someone doesn't upgrade their exarc's weapon.
You could use the dire avenger wrist mounted catapult. Then green stuff it so it is more circular, the kisses are wristmounted afterall.
The fusion pistols... i have no idea.
