Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am new to both tau and 40k and i have started putting together an army and playing with friends who are also new to 40k. I have amassed a 1500 pt army whitch is doing vary well aginst my friends but iv been thinking about adding a second commander to my squad and running him with tlbc and cib. The shas'O has 4 attacks as stated in the codex...my question is this: Does 4 attacks mean you can fire 4 wepon systems or does 4 attacks mean i can fire the twbc and the cib each 4 times effectivly pumping out 44 shots in a single turn? My current list needs more "hord" dupport so if i run this with a squad of fw to protect him with the ic status i belive it would be vary effective. Can somone help me with this.
No, it has nothing to do with weapon systems or times you can fire a weapon. The attacks stat only refers to attacks in close combat. The only way you can fire more than one weapon system is if you have a multi-tracker or similar effect. And the number of shots are included in the item description i.e.: "assault 5".
Also, for more horde support, use CIB and AFP. Personally, i like stealth suits for anti horde (even if they are not a popular choice) because you have 9 shots for a team of 3 and they are in range since turn one.
Hope this helps.
The attacks value in a model's profile is how many times it can attempt to punch an enemy in the face...a weapons system lists how many times it may be fired....and most of the time, you may only fire one weapons system per turn (there are exceptions, such as a crisis suit with a multitracker...)
What this sounds like is that you probably don't own, and certainly haven't read, the main rule book. That's your first bit of homework, young padawan!

Thank you guys vary much. Ya i definatly roll with a mt but the attack atat threw me off. And yes you are write, i do not yet own a rule book, just the codex witch i have damn near memorized in the past week lol. Once agin thanks for the help. And on a side note..how would you run a cib and afp on the same unit..? I thought you can only 1 per army?
The point about the Special Issue stuff being "one per army" just means that if one model takes "X" item, then another model cannot take the same restricted piece of wargear/weaponry. So you couldn't have two Commanders taking a CIB each, for example.
There is nothing to stop you putting both Special Issue weapons on the same model however; it just means that you would lose both of them should the model be killed.
It's great to know that you've spent so much time getting to know your Codex. However, some of the stuff which is mentioned in there can only be understood if you have first read the main Rulebook, so get out there and get yourself a shiny new copy! You could try an online site called Bits and Kits (Bits and Kits, The biggest selection of Bits in the world) because they often have the mini rulebook for sale. You just have to keep checking back to the site if it's not available. There is of course Ebay.
