Welcome to Librarium Online!
hi all its been a while since i have posted anything on this forum. i have been thinking recently about the eldar and their difficulties in the current state of things. one day i thought of a whole storm guardian mech list and made a list at 2k. the list looks pretty solid and seems to look good on paper, and its relatively cheap so i can fit in a lot of bodies. in my list i have about 6 serpents a night spinner, fire dragons, and storm guardians. this list would need a lot of farseer support to be good however with it i think it could be the answer to most of the problems we now face against mech spam. tell me what you guys think i will post a list in a few days.
Is doable. post the list so we can talk on tactics (but test it before)
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
Personally I think troop heavy lists are considered fun (and in a tourney where your opponents get to provide various scores for you, that can actually go a looong way).
While storm guardians aren't so reliable against vehicles in this edition with just a pair of BS3 meltas and a spear, they are certainly capable of popping anything and can certainly contribute to dismantling an armored assault.
I'm not sure if farseers are more vital then they usually are for such a list. I think a key will be controlling line of sight and charge avenues. You'll need to use those skimmer hulls to keep your stormies from getting charged and at least get them a cover save if not outright screening them from incoming fire.
I do like a night spinner in a list like that, because you'll be especially interested in countering barage weapons, and it can help with keeping fire and charges off your guys. That or outflanking walkers (or both).
Its fine. Sometimes they do better than dire avengers. I would still suggest you increase your long range fire power by added dual prisms. 2 farseers are going to be a must for all guardian troops. Or 1 eldrad should work. You will need to guide the ones shooting meltas and doom the units being flamed. Fortune wont play a big roll for this kind of army. Fire dragons will add some punch. I think it will work out nicely, realistically , changes from the standard cookie cutter list would be dropping DAs for guardians and adding another farseer. which could be easily done with several squads being switched over, saves about 30ish points.
Eldar -APOC- 6500 Points
Chaos Daemons -Fate Crusher- 3500 Points
Grey knights - 1000 Points
ya im going to try out this list on Saturday and or Sunday, i will most likely take pictures and i will come up with a short account of the battle. my list i am using will be put up on the list forum shortly, i dont have any prisms however i see where your going and i will probably use them in the future but right now i don't have the models.
Is the link working? if not i can post pics on here though it will take some time
Decent Battle Report. I was skeptical of a Facebook picture based report, but it was great! I was just wondering why the Terminators did not deep strike in? It's nice to see Guardians getting some play.
