I've got a cheeky little idea up my sleeve.
With Citadel Finecast coming out this Saturday I think I'll pop down to Warhammer World in Nottingham and pop into the shop. Before too long a sales assistant will surely come along and ask if I have seen the finecast range. Conversation continues something like,
Me: Yes I have.
GW: So which ones are you getting?
Me: None of them.
GW: Why not?
Me: There are no Necrons despite having a huge range of metal models.
GW: insert what you think his reply will be
Nothing like making a case for the Necrons, and whilst I do not expect him to reveal all about the new Codex it will certainly make him squirm a bit. Anyways, they deserve it for hanging us out for so long to dry.
I will report back on Saturday. But in the meantime please feel free to reply with your thoughts on the employees reply.
I look forward to reading your comments.
GW Staff: He asked about necrons! GET TO DA CHOPPA!
Come see my Necrons, Space Marines, Dwarfs, Orks, Goblins and anything else I feel like painting at my blog: http://modelminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/
They will be released in new sculpts so why replace the current models?
Praise be to the Emperor!!
Sir please refrain from questioning the imperium, you'll be receiving a letter from our lawyers.
"Erm...erm...erm...Boss? Can you help this guy out please?" [translates as: aw crap, why'd he pick me for the awkward question?]

Cappy over the Warseer did this to one of his contacts... and look what he slipped:Originally Posted by Captain Ventris@Warseer

That sounds like the entire range will be renewed, that doesn´t sound like GW
GW do this shortly before springing a new codex/release - they stockpile those that are staying (so that they can flood retail with them on release and supply the inevitable rush of "new-army" direct orders) and they run-down those that are going. By removing the entire range they can more easily keep the "new" stuff under wraps.
It's what they've always done (at least in the past few years) - and definately what they did with TK's and Skaven. It certainly doesn't mean they're releasing an ENTIRE product line.
Ah, this thread delivers...I laughed, I cried, I wanted to call in the Macho man from the UPPER top ropes on GW...
