As the title says converting is taking over my life i look at everything and think 'oooooo what could i make that into'
is this a normal reaction or should i be worried?
I have a friend like that - he NEVER gets anything painted or even whole units built because he always has a crazy new scheme he's building things for. I used to think 'oooo I could do this' and I still do, except now I also think 'but if I personally do it it will look like poo' so yah. Thats pretty much how it goes - depends whether you have the talent for it! (I don't) ^.^

I am President of the Brunel University wargames society - PM me if interested.
I am exactly the same i have 120 boyz to paint but my crazy ideas always take over!
I personally think IA and Apoc rules are to blame! if i hadnt of read those i would never know about fightas and skullhamma battle fortress. More recently ive thought that a blasta bomma is no way big enough!
I dunno if im good at it but its fun and thats what it comes down to i spose!
Given that you're posting this in the Ork thread I'd say this is a perfectly acceptable mind-set! Orks is made fer Fightin' (and converting!)
I agree with Shinglepants- conversions are a huge part of playing/collecting orks. One of the best things about the ork range is the interchangability between fantasy orcs and space orks. I started out with an orc army in addition to my space orks and ended up turning them all into the orky space variety. It gives you so many extra heads, arms, etc. to add flavor and keep your hordes from being repetitive. My latest project is creating a massive chariot-style boar-drawn transport for my feral boyz (using savage orc models for them, theyre really nice models).
I must admit when i started 40k orks it was just because my mate had them left over from AoBR. Ive always been quality over quantity but now after playing a few games with them ive deffinatly been converted theres no problem that cant be sorted by either overwhelming with 100s of boyz or just having the biggest and the most guns.
Guilty. I have a hard time throwing away bad pencils, plastic packaging or metal wire. This would make a great thingy I can put on the other thingey. I've got too many boxes of possible conversion/scratch buiild materials.
Perfectly normal if you ask me. My games club president spends his life rooting through skips.....
almost all my lootas were cannibalized from my bits box.
