I bought some stuff off of a player that was switching to dark eldar and was cannibalizing his army for conversions.
But they didn't have a plan for Karandas so while I was buying other stuff they offered him for very little and I took them up on it.
So now I've got the fig, and I'm wondering about using him.
First off all a rules question, his powers, like with exarcs, spread to the rest of the squad right? I.e. I don't have to take any exarc powers on the scorp exarc and the whole squad benifits from stealth right?
Secondly is how to use him. I'm trying to kinda think of him as a replacement for an serpent and a farseer so his points cost is about the same. Basically the idea is that, in this edition, I don't deploy scorps via infiltrate because they suck against dreds and aren't very effective against vehicles, so they're more likely to get into trouble than do any good. However I've found them quite effective in a serpent with a fortune farseer because with a re-rollable 3+ (and usually some cover from the serpents hull) they're highly survivable in the likely event they're out in the open after combat.
Karandas, however, can tear up a dred, poses a serious threat to most vehicles that get too close, and with him in the squad they should be able to pose a serious CC threat even if they've gotten shot up. He should also provide some more resiliance to shooting, especially if he grants stealth to the squad, but even if he doesn't I can put AP3 wounds on him and still roll the 2+.

Next round try to join Karandras again with the Scorpions and place them back (or even better forward) in the nearest cover.
Additionally you can engage enemies models that are already in cover with the whole unit ( IG weapon teams, DE Kabalite Warriors, etc) so that after the CC you already in cover.
Hope I have been of some help
