Getting back in the game after 6yrs. Obviously I want to play Eldar. Have a few questions as I've been reading over all new rules.
-Eldrad/Farseer, they count as independent characters correct. Are they able to 'attach' in all sense but still remain independent to travel in a WS or Faclon, not including WLs
-I've seen in some peoples army list of having farseers and Eldrad upgraded with Singing spears, I don't see this as an option in the codex for wargear upgrades.
Any help would be great thank you
Welcome to eldar! Your gonna have a lot of fun
Yes they can go into wave serpents or falcons with a unit or by themselves
and some farseers can be upgraded to have singing spears and eldrad comes with a better version of one
As independant Characters Eldrad and Farseers can leave and join other units at will, they can't join units that would for any reason would always be a seperate model so they can't join with Wraithlords or the Avatar. They can enter transports so long as there is transport space available and can travel with the squad in the tank or go in tank by themselves, unless of course your farseer is on a jetbike.
You can upgrade Farseers to have Singing spears.
The Staff of Ulthramar is not a singing spear in any way, it allows him to use a 3rd power if he's not in assault and the staff ignores amrour saves when used instead of his witchblade. It cannot be thrown like a singing spear so is a completly different weapon.
I have a question too
Is Eldrad's staff a two handed weapon?
It doesn't specifically say but I'd assume so looking at the model. The staff is quite large.
thanks for input, figured most of it but was unsure on some points. Thanks dude, cleared it all up
The staff is decoration. It has no rules. It's not even a hand weapon. Farseers come equipped by default with a witchblade and shuriken pistol which combine to give them 2 attacks (1 base +1 for one-handed weapon and pistol). And yes, Farseers can be upgraded with SS at 3 pts. Mostly just good for rounding out lists if you have an ugly uneven number of points like 1997, but they're good if you ever need to kill a tank.
