My first of 7 Autarchs/Farseers I'm going to make the first of which is The Hunter of the Great Enemy (Slanesh) Galanim
I even made rules for him to use in my friends friendly games. We enjoy new characters for fun though and don't like to over power things with boring and super over powered characters but enjoy a lot of finesse and creative ones in our house games when we are taking a break from regular competitive play. So please tear the rules to shreds if they seem too powerful or useless.
Galanim Hunter of the Great Enemy 185 points
Sv 3+/4++ (forceshield)
Spear of Fulgora, Bane of Arms, Plasma Grenades, Force Shield
Spear of Fulgora: Witchblade that wounds on a 3+ and ignores armor saves
Bane of Arms: Daemonic blade that latches and whips to Galanim's desire, one model in base contact with Garruk loses 2 attacks to a minimum of 1
Independant Character, Fleet of Foot, White Flash, Master Strategist
White Flash: His ancient spear allows him to periodically move with lightning fast reflexes and power. Once per game if Garruk is alone he may activate this ability. He may roll 2d6 for his fleet adding the results and becomes I10 and gains preferred enemy for the turn. At the end of the turn his spear exhausts him and he takes one wound which can only be saved by his forceshield. (like Yriel)
Feel free to rip it apart I guess. Is he too powerful? too weak? Do you at least like the model? Im thinking of adding a sea cloak to him. and a daemonette body on the base under his bike. (yes I use dark eldar AND eldar bikes)

Garruk? Honestly? Do you play too much MTG by any chance? ;P
On topic, I think the rules are a little bit too powerful at 170 points. A witchblade that ignores armour saves is obnoxiously powerful and probably worth about 40 points on its own. If ou want to keep them as they are I'd put him up to 200 at least, especially considering that because custom special characters need your opponent's consent they need to be a little overcosted, or at least in comparison to stock SC. As for the model, it's pretty cool but it definitely needs a cloak. At the moment it could pass for an Exarch rather than an Autarch, put the sea cloak on him. The Daemonette would look cool, but it might clog up the base a bit. I dunno, try it just loose and see what it would look like.
But yeah, the cloak. Without a doubt.
EDIT: What is that head from? I'm sure I've seen it before.
Thanks for the reply. I'll answer
Yes I have been playing to much MTG.... I was hoping no body would catch me haha. However that name is temporary as he needs a name that fits his naturally fast nature.
I am definitely working on getting the cape, it's just hard to as a dark elf cloak is hard to come across.
The daemonette is kindof necessary but I will see how it looks first.
I'm going to bump him up to 180 and move his blade to a 3+ to wound
Play testing him tomorrow if he is too good then definitely raising price.
I only use custom characters with my friends when we agree to play these kinds of custom character games for fun or somebody asks to play with him in the list to see what he is like.
Thanks for replying and i will 100% get that cloak he does look too thin as is, also should i get him two streamers from the front of the shoulder pads?
Hmm, something streamlined like Asuriel or something (just off the top of my head, I know that's a bit generic) seems like it could work better. I don't think there are many Eldary names in Magic anyway (though Venser is OK I guess), but obviously you want something original anyway.
Could you not use one of the Autarch capes from the existing models? I'm not sure which capes would be most feasible since I've never tried to convert a cape from existing models (I make them out of Green Stuff, you could do that as well but you do need to be quite good at it). Otherwise, High Elves might be worth checking out.
As I say, the Daemonette would look pretty cool but I'd be worried there'd be too much on the base. What do you mean by 'kind of necessary'?
That seems a lot more reasonable, 3+ to wound with no armour save is basically just a space marine with a power weapon for most circumstances except killing big things and other MEQs so that would be fine. But yeah, playtesting will tell.
Basically that cut in half http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/images/dark...cape_large.jpg and like green stuff blended into the back. Also going to give him striking scorpionesque bands on his legs around crotch and feet.
The reason the daemonette is so important is because by fluff he is a slanesh hunter so kindof want that on the base but honestly if it looks bad, I just wont because I understand what you mean
I really like the idea and model of this character and can't wait to see more of your autarchs you make. Now to pricing this bad boy. 155 points is VERY reasonable, ALL your stats are the same as Yriel's (well Yriel has 4 attacks on his profile and your's only has 3 BUT I'm guessing your counting your weapons as +1 attack in combat? While Yriel only has 1 weapon). I would price the weapons and abilities as follows....
Spear of Fulgora = 30pts (5 more points then a power fist, but of course gets to swing in "I" order but wounds on a 3+ instead of 2+)
Bane of Arms = 20pts (10 more points than a dark eldar shardnet but only affects 1 models instead of all models. But than it takes away 2 attacks instead of 1. So when fighting a power fist or something like that it would came in handy)
White Flash = 35pts (the biggest thing about this power is of coruse the 2d6 fleet move. WOW! So he could cover a distance between 14''-24'' in one turn (20pts)! Then the I10 thing isn't a big deal because he has grenades and very high I6 to start with (5pts). But preferred enemy is also good, but most of the time he's hitting on 3's so 5 attacks on the charge, so most likely re-rolling 2 (10pts). But than he could take a wound from it and can only use the ability if he is alone.
