Welcome to Librarium Online!
i was wondering if this feathering is good enough, due to having nothing to compare to except the video's and pictures of professional painters..so if possible can you guys give me any help?
Because i didnt have any purple, i mixed blood red and shadow grey 1:2 and then watered it down, highlights were added by adding white to the previous mix first 1:1:2 then 2:1:2
Also any suggestions for the colours of the skin and weapon?
From what I can see, it looks okay... but I can't really see all that much. Your photo is very grainy...
If you can retake the photo (try just putting some more light onto the models before you start snapping - better light = better photos (generally)) I'm sure that would help our critiques!
But good enough is an entirely subjective term. 'Good enough' in comparison to professional painters is never going to work in your favour, but 'good enough' by tabletop standards can be as simple as 'do they have paint on them?'
From what I see in your photo the effect looks good, although perhaps some of the edges could be feathered out a little more. As I said, a little difficult to tell.
yea, sorry about the photo quality, i cant find my proper camera, so i took it off my phone
and its a purple shade, so what skin color would make it stand out more?
Looking good! Apart from the photo quality but hey, I can tell anyway.
If it is purple, then you could be looking at bone skin, or a dark grey skin if you wanted a bit of a difference. If you want bone, then undercoat your models white, wash them all with Leviathan Purple then just layer on Bleached Bone. Highlight if you really really think it is necessary, but you will have a lot of models to paint being 'nid. If you wanted a dark grey, layer Codex Grey or Adeptus Battlegrey. Highlight if you really feel it's necessary.
The weapon is, generally, the same scheme as the rest of the 'nid, but I have seen a few schemes out there with different coloured weapons. If so, I nice red would suit well for the 'nid, I advise Red Gore but you could change that depending on your personal preference.
No worries mate, red skin will work too. In fact it would look quite nice if you had yellow eyes, that would make a very good scheme
Yellow eyes, well i was thinking bright green make them look scary
Don't bother asking me then jks don't worry. But yeah, do it however you like.
