I've just succumbed to temptation and ordered a Reaper from Forge World. Has any one tried one in a game yet? If so, how did it go?
I havent tried it but it doesnt seem like a good choice. That cannon is hull mounted so if it gets immobilised its got a tiny arc of fire, one weapon destroyed and it's just a blocking unit.
Sorry to say but a ravager would probobly do much better for you.

1) It looks cool.
2) I was thinking of running it with a couple of Ravagers against a Necron Monolith. The view being the Reapers weapon would keep the Monolith in check whilst the ravagers cause mayhem.
3) Did I mention it looked cool? ;-)

I would rate it better than a ravager, that 5" blast is very nice and it serves as a dual purpose.
What you are trading here is less chance of penetrating and more chance of stun lock with the high strenght shot d3 haywire, against rhinos and av13 or lower you are looking potentially 4 AP hits(including d3 haywire). I find our lances are pretty bleak anyway, you need way too many to be effective, if there was more haywire about like this vehicle you could potentially lock down your enemy tanks and engage them at close range and HTH, combined with scourges it would be a pain for your opponent to do much of anything with his tank's, except of course for grey knights and their ignore ability.
I prefer haywire over the lance, its a pity it wasn't just 3 shots with a haywire at 24" or 36" i would have taken that. though the rules are kinda cool, instant deathing stuff is handy too.
If you're always worried about crushing the ants beneath you...you won't be able to walk.
I have 2. They don't really shine in normal games. Except against the monolith, or if someone tries to be funny and take a dismounted hoard where our darklances have far less utility.
But in apoc... Great for massed vehicles or against void shields.
Looking at its rules I quite like it. When it hits, it has an average of 2 Haywire hits, and that's quite useful, especially against vehicles with 14 armour.
I see quite alot of Russes, and Raiders as well as the pain in the #### monoliths. I might just buy one if a decent paying job comes along soon.
I'm much more tempted to buy the upcoming Tantalus vehicle from Forgeworld, it looks simply amazing. I don't really find the Reaper all that good or good-looking, so I'm not getting it.
