Just tried to order a few broadsides through the LGS and got an odd response. They said that the stock was out and would have to wait until GW released the finecast version. Kinda mixed feelings on this. First off, I have no clue when They would be available. Can't even describe how much I hated the metal bits on it, but the finecast has... Iffy results. Finally, what will the new price be? Normal price was $35, and I expect it to be about $40 after the finecast treatment. I already thought the $35 pricetag was ridiculous due to only a small change of metal bits with usually poor detail. Anyone share the same feeling?Anyone heard about what else is being released in finecast for tau?I was surprised the only finecast treatment we got was ethereal and Sniper drones, but atleast it was nice to know the GW still knows the army is around.
~shrug~ I wouldn't hold my breath on the availability of the finecast ones... on the other hand, I'm not convinced that the change will be a bad thing. I still have nightmares about straightening the barrels of my metal railguns. At least with the resin, if it's bent, hot water works wonders!

Well on the UK website it says delivery for the XV88 us expected to be within four to five weeks. I guess from that we can expect a finecast release in the next month or so. The price UK will probably be around £20 given the rise percentages of other FC stuff. I for one welcome the resin guns but the thing that worries me about the finecast XV88 is the ankle joints, they are bad enough in plastic but resin sheesh they will be awful, just one knock or slight stress on the joint and they will snap.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Well since the original model was part metal and plastic, maybe they'll only be replacing the metal parts with resin?
Just got a call from my LGS this last weekend. The Broadsides are in, and they're the same old metal/plastic kits from before. Not sure if I should be bummed out by that.
