Are Orks viable in annihilation games

When I play orks these days I lose every annihilation game I play. When it involves objectives I tend to win.

But lately My opponents have cottoned on and just play it as if it was annihilation whatever the situation. Trukks don't last and smart opponents get behind my BW so the only thing that works is footslogging...

Interested to see how others get on

I'm not gonna lie, annihilation is a very tough game for Orks to win. More specifically though, it's a tough game for a 'balanced' or 'competitive' Ork army to win, filled with transports, small units, and objective grabbing grots.

I can easily make an Ork list that will have an easy time winning annihilation games. In fact, here it is:

    1-2 Big meks w/KFFs
    Several large units of boyz
    1-2 units of lootas
    9 Killa Kans w/grotzookas
    0-2 Deff dreads

Not only is that list great in annihilation games, but it's also one of my favorite Ork lists to play.

So what's the problem? It's not good for objective grabbing. Sure, you'll hold your own forever, but there's no way you'll get anywhere near your opponent's, and your opponent will most likely cruise around the middle of the board at will.

Unfortunately, there's no real answer, except to try and avoid small expendable units, and try to not use too many transports.
