Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey all, this is my first post on these forums. I'm looking for some feedback on my Army list. I mostly play against a single friend who fields Blood Angels, but I would like to take my army to tournaments in the future. So, comments about competitive play and play vs. Blood Angels are both welcome. Also, please take into account I'm a noob! Very much so!
After reviewing the options, I decided to try for T6 spam- however, I have not seen any other lists for this army, so I could be way off. I'm trying to see if I'm at least headed in the right direction.
Hive Tyrant- 225
2 sets of Twin-linked Devourers w/Brainleech Worms
Tyrant Guard x3- 195
Termagaunt Brood x30- 150
(Same biomorphs as previous Tervigon)
Mycetic Spore- 60
Holding: Zoanthropes x3, Hive Guards x3, Hive Guards x3
Zoanthrope Brood x3- 180
Hive Guard Brood x3- 150
Hive Guard Brood x3- 150
Trygon Prime x2- 500
both with Adrenal Glands
The main idea is to lead with the Hive Tyrant, taking full advantage of his Hive Commander ability with lots of baddies in reserve, and using the Guard to keep it alive. This process is aided by the Termagaunt brood and Tervigon that progresses with the Tyrant, spawning more Termagaunts all the way. I want to drop my Mycetic Spore as early as possible right by their tanks so I can annihilate them. Once the Trygons come in, I want to use them to clean up or just assist with aggressive pressure.
Is this a viable list? Please help!
This belongs in the army list section, not the general forums.
You know that one pod can't carry all nine of those models, right? You can only carry one of the elite broods (you'll want them for the zoanthropes).
I don't really like how the list hits in waves. Too easy to single out targets.
Tervigon should not be in the HQ slot. A scoring MC is too valuable. Maybe drop a Zoan and a Tyrant Guard (niether of those need 3 models) and the gun on the spore to get another large unit of gaunts. A Tyranid Prime with dual boneswords would go well inside a termagant brood.
Still.....not a fan of using termagants as your main bulk force.
Sorry about that, I'll move it to the army list section. But thank you for the response! No, I didn't know that I couldn't hold all those troops in the one pod... thanks for pointing that out. Also noted that hitting in waves may be too easy to counter, and another MC should replace the Tervigon. Thanks again, this is the kind of thing I was looking for.
One question, why don't you like Termagaunts as a bulk force?
