Welcome to Librarium Online!
Was wondering if GW had any plans for any more Necron releases in the near or distant future. Specifically for anything that hasn't been released already, which probably seems obvious, more specifically things like the Triarch Stalker, the Doom scythe and Nightscythe, Tomb Blades, Wraiths and anything else that doesn't currently have a model released, like more special characters. Another Cryptek model would also be nice as we only have 1!
Does anyone know anything specific?
Definitely Tomb Blades, Spiders, Night scythe, and Wraiths. Most likely though like the nid-dex (some units like the TS, DS, and maybe some HQ units) You may have to actually modify or convert them yourself. But that's just me.
Rly, I looked at the GW site and you can't get anymore of the old wraiths.
I'm expecting Tomb Blades in the next wave - it's a brand new unit in the codex, and GW is probably hoping that we'll all buy a bunch of them. Better to release Tomb Blades before Wraiths (which we will definitely buy a bunch of, even if other units have come out first). I imagine that this is the reasoning that saw new Dark Eldar units released before Wracks were - Wracks were highly anticipated due to being cheap Troops with T4 and FNP, so they were going to sell whether released early or later in the cycle. Better to get Reavers and Scourges out early while people are still excited about the new codex!
Of course, if Canoptek Wraiths are delayed too long then third party manufacturers like Chapter House or Scibor may come out with their own version first...
Speaking of which, this is what I'll be using as a Triarch Stalker:

Just needs a Praetorian head and torso to act as a pilot and it'll do the job nicely. Cost me just on AUD $50, and I doubt the official GW kit will be that cheap.
I wouldn't be so sure without going to the rumor mill and looking for compelling evidence. For example, do you see any Space Wolf players running Thunderwolf Calvary? They look pretty effing awesome in a vacuum, but they have no models aside from Canis Wolfborn and he's the size of a !@#$ Dreadnought! I've seen plenty of conversions, but also plenty of debate as to what size the actual models would be, if they existed.
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.

Revenant Moon Necrons: (W/L/D) 0/1/0 (6th edition: 13/2/2)(5th edition: 14/6/4)(3rd edition Codex: 16/4/7)
XIX Legion: (W/L/D) 0/0/0 (5th edition: 14/12/2)(5th edition Codex: 4/3/0)
Black Legion: (W/L/D) 1/0/0 (6th edition: 2/3/0)
Something Wicked... Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 10/4/1
Funnily enough, I've played against Thunderwolves in more than one occasion. Nasty unit, and nice looking models too.
But they aren't GW models, you say? That's my point. If GW is too slow at brining out an official model for a unit that people really want, some other company will come up with a model that "coincidentally" fills that void. Especially in Australia, lots of players don't care anymore if you're not using official GW models. Since the emrago I haven't noticed any tournaments enforcing a GW-only rule.
So if GW does postpone the wraiths in order to bring other units out first (hoping that most Necron layers will buy both kits), they're only giving an opportunity to someone else. There are already third party Canoptek Scarabs and walkers... sure, it's only a minority of ganmers who'll hear about the third party models, let alone buy them, but any lost sales in certain parts of the world is bad news for GW.
Thanks for the replies everyone
Well, I am pretty sure I heard Wraiths were coming out in the 'next wave' of new figures - only trouble is I can't recall if I really seen it or if I dreamt it. Yes, Wraiths have had models in past productions but they no longer sell them on the GW site. I had considered getting some from Ebay, but they are ridiculously expensive, have seen single Wraiths going for £20!! That's far too much, in my opinion.
Was interested in another Cryptel model, but having read another thread in the Necron forum (Deathmarks or Immortals) I have learned of a cool way to convert my own, which I am going to do!
I like the idea of Tomb Blades but are they any good? And what weapons would you field them with? 100 points for a full unit with twin-linked weapons seems rather good as they have the manouvreability to be where they need to be to put those weapons to good effect (seems that way, anyway, but I am inexperienced with war in the 40k universe).
Would also like at least one Triarch Stalker, but I am not good at converting things and would rather buy an actual model for one.
When do you guys think the 'next wave' of Nercon releases will be?
