Welcome to Librarium Online!
So this is the part where I ask the question.
How many annihilation Barges do you guys use to find the most reliable?
For I use one in my army, but find that it does slightly better than other things in the army so I am thinking of adding a second one to handle the job twice as good.

It's a very cost effective unit for what it brings to the table -- a ridiculous amount of accurate fire power on a mobile AV13 firing platform. I'd say, run as many as you can afford to. At 2,000 points I plan to field 2 plus a unit of Spyders. If I had a fourth HS slot, I'd run a third Barge, but alas the third slot is competing for Scarab spawning shenanigans.
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.

I usually run 2 and I've been toying around running 3. But the only caveat to that is losing the one slot for Spyders as I like to run 2 units of Scarabs.
I don't like to Min/Max if I can avoid it. Making a balanced strong list is what I like> That said, I'll never field 3 (especially as I like my last heavy to be 3 spyders!), but 1-2 is a definite! I'll never leave home without at least one, no matter the pts lvl.

I have a personal rule that I'll never take 3 of the same thing, but that's merely self-imposed. For other folk, I would say to take as many annihilation barges as you can squeeze in, unless you're wanting to play with spiders/scarabs. But past 1000pnts, there should be no reason why all your heavy slots aren't full.
I usually use 2.
If I don't feel like using Monolith around, I'll use 3.

2 Barges with one Monolith. I think Annilation barges are just fantastic.
The lack of AP bothers me. It is very cost effective. I think it is the 2nd best Heavy choice - Spyders may be the best, but I run with no heavies.
I think the vehicle is the bee's knees, and can't imagine someone not loving it. So I'm curious why you don't love it.
Love it! You know you want to.
I don't hate the Barge. Actually, I comes from playing against it with Tau, I was nervous when I played a Necron player with 2 Barges, however, the fair number of hits did nothing much to my Fire Warriors, Tanks or Suits. The AP - makes even Pen hits ineffective, and no AP makes the high ST not nearly as useful. Also the chance of a Tesla skip to another unit on a '6' is not much more than a cute little bonus.
For 90 points, you could get a unit of Warriors who's gun does have an AP, same range, and has much better stopping power against both units and tanks. Not as fast, but much more resistant to shooting!
