Welcome to Librarium Online!
Back to the Monolith discussion, not because I want to keep arguing about it, but because I want to bring something to your attention.
I managed to get a copy of the leaked 6th edition rules PDF (the 165 page copy) and i found something Interesting, It stated the vehicles classed as heavy have a structure point! So before its the structure point is blown through it counts ALL rolls on the vehicle damage chart as -3.
Without going into immense detail about the rules it means that they need to destroy all our weapons on the monolith +2 in order to cause a Wreak Result on the Vehicle damage chart.
200 points all of a sudden looks VERY cost effective to me!

I think you may be jumping the gun here. I'm not holding my breath with this supposedly leaked rule book, we'll see what Monoliths look like when the actual 6e codex hits the shelves. If vehicles are given better DS rules (and I see no reason why they wouldn't) and the Spanish errata holds true with teleporting units out of combat, then that alone will be more than enough reason to run the Monolith.
But, then again, if there is any truth to this "leaked" rule book, then that would definitely make the Monolith pretty win-button again. Might want to pick one up off of ebay while people still don't want them, just in case ;P
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.

Yeah... I wouldnt be holding my breath ether. Sure, there have been some leaked rules before that are actually correct, but not everything. Someone (possibly even GW) could very easily make something that looked "official" and just tossed it out into the interwebs for all to see. I am not saying that those rules COULDN'T be correct, I am just saying that they are not official, until the new book is out.
Also, isn't there rules on LO saying we shouldn't be talking about possibly illegal leaks and such? O.o could be mistaken. Not sure. hah
Regardless, IF those rules are correct, I will be very happy. Currently, I run a Monolith. I find them to be quite useful myself, and worth the points as is. If they add more epic-goodness to them, I will only keep that heavy support option firmly cemented for the 'Lith. Hah
Yeah, I have not had any luck with mine - one turn in and destroyed. But I can see how it could do well. I just miss the old one
I'm of the mind (after glancing at the pdf) that the leaked rules are an older playtest version. So, I think we'll see some things alike, and a lot of things different.
But, regardless of that, I don't think Monolith kits were ever that big of sellers where they needed to invalidate them, contrary to destroyers. If anything, I would think that promoting sales of a $70 kit that wasn't that popular in their old codex and doesn't include a development cost would be something right up GW's alley.
I think the word on the interwebs is that this is a months-old playtest version of 6th edition. In short, a lot of stuff in this may be true, but a lot is also likely to change as well. However, I think a universal truth we can all accept is that the old plastic brick will get better in 6th. At least, I think some way for it to fire all of its weapons and deep strike in relative safety are in order.
