Welcome to Librarium Online!
I wanted to compile some of the best Hobby resources for Necrons and some of the Alternative models out there.
Let me know if you have any great Necron related hobby sources ot post a reply and I'll add it to the first post.
This section covers all sorts of game aids including things like counters & tokes, custom bases, and crystal decorations.
Counters & Tokens
Keep track of all your robots logically and with flair.
Clear rods in alternative colors
- Litko Game Accessories:
Litko makes a ton of tokens and counters - they also do custom work. Someone sent in a design for a laser etched fluorescent green circuit board. Seeing how cool that looked, I requested a design for a green circuit-board skull counter to use as reanimation protocol and Entropic strike markers.
LITKO Game Accessories - Search Results for "Necron"
Several sets of markers covering every every 40k situation with bright bold Necron colors and designs. 1-inch round with metal bases.
Battlemarkers - Necron Markers
- Silver Compass Designs
Interesting sets of tokens indicating a bunch of effects like quantum shielding and units marked by deathmarks. Interesting 3D effect with colored words cut into the clear plastic. It says you can also paint them yourself.
Silver Compass Necron Tokens
- Micro Art Studio
Cool little obelisk/monolith tokens. Could be used as wound counters, objective markers, or just to spice up the battlefield.
- Genius Factory Games
Quantum shielding, RP, shield and character counters, and new 40mm scarab tokens! Thanks to themidget428 for this link. I am a fan of all things "Necron Neon Green" and the Lychguard-shaped shield shape of the tokens looks very cool!
Genius Factory Necron Tokens
- Laser Cut Card:
Laser etched plywood number counters with a Necron backing.
Probably not as important now, with the move away from the clear rods. But I still love them. Apparently the 2.44mm (3/32") rods are a good fit for the Warriors and 3mm (1/8") for the Monolith.
Magnetic Flight Connectors
- Plastruct seems to be *one* of the only company making rods small enough to be used with Necrons:
Plastruct, Inc. - Home
A site with a good collection of neon rods in yellow, red, green, and blue - designed for Necrons.
PK-Pro - Neon Round Profiles
- TAP plastics
This place seemed to have a lot of interesting products, but the sizes seem to be too large for anything but terrain:
Colored Acrylic Rods, Colored Plastic Rods, Plastic Rods: TAP Plastics
We may be able to build transdimensional portals, but we still can't travel to the games store without those little flight stands snapping off..
Crystals, Crystal Bases, Regular Bases and Even More Crystals
- Ninja Magic
I have these on all my destroyers and barges. They're great because you can easily pull the model off and store the base and model separate for transporting - so no broken flying stands. During the game, the magnet keeps the base attached when you move the model. I'm not sure I'd trust them with a Ghost Ark though... maybe two bases one at front and one at the rear of the Ark.
Magnetic Adapter Products
- Back 2 Base-ix
I just spotted these as well. A different design - two magnets in a wide stand. Can be ordered in different colors.
Back 2 Base-ix Flight Stands
"The heart of any military force is a sick custom baes" ~ Sun Tzu
- Acheson Creations
A large collection of translucent blue, clear colorless, and opaque unpainted crystals. Sprinkled through the fantasy section in the link below, or search on 'crystal'.
- Anarcy Models
Nice looking individual crystals for bases and large crystals for scenery from Anarchy Models. Thanks to Dark Trainer for pointing out that they have a variety of colors - green, red, purple, and blue!
Anarchy Models - Crystals
The Necrons will Be Back with these great looking thematic bases detailing an Ancient Necropolis rising from the ground. Or possibly buried by time and ravages of war - your call!
Ancient Necropolis Bases
- Black Cat Bases
A line of Barren Earth with Crystals resin bases.
Barren Earth bases
- Evil Mushroom
Evil Mushroom does some Resin bases with crystals built-in as well as some large crystal pieces for scenery:
Evil Mushroom Games
Epicast also makes some resin crystal bases - they were offline for awhile, but are back under new ownership for 2014.
Epicast Crystal bases
A full set of "Necruin" bases from infantry up to flyer sizes. Has the look of Necron symbols carved into rock that is now cracked and jagged.
Large, Impressive translucent looking crystals from GF9 - they have green, red, and blue crystals.
Minerals Field and Cyber Undead bases. First is another entry into the Crystals on resin base. The second is collection of ruined statue Necron faces on the bases.
- Secret Weapon Miniature
New line of crystals to be released in September - comes in Red, Orange, Light/Dark Green & Light/Dark Blue.
Secret Weapon Miniatures picked up Voodooworx line of Alien temple bases that look very Necrony.
Alien Temple bases
- Taban Miniatures
Taban has a full line of bases feature Alien glyphs beneath ancient rubble.
Alien Glyph Bases
- Tabletop Art
Crystal "tech" bases - crystals on base with a distinct high-tech feel - including new large oval flight bases. These look very awesome!
Crystal Tech Bases
"Techron" Jewel Bases - very unique looking bases etched with Necronish symbols
Techron Jewel Bases
- Zealot Miniatures
In their sci-fi terrain line they have a bunch of crystal, Crystal obelisks and a "tech" base.
Zealot Miniatures Terrain
Covering all larger, non-crystal terrain.
- Angry Badger Gaming
Angry Badge makes some very nice fantasy and Sci-fi laser cut terrain. Including these two entries suitable for Necrons:
Circuit Wall Sheet
- Brush 4 Hire Studio
Brush 4 Hire Studios has a couple of MDF & clear plastic defense lines fit for Necrons with more Necron-themed terrain in the works:
- Chapterhouse Studios
Chapterhouse has an entry into the Necron-themed Ageis defense line with their Space UndeadDefense line. Comes with either green or blue clear resin bits and the option to add on additional turrets:
Space Undead Defenses
- Tabletop-art Crystal Tech Terrain
A couple of variations now available. Very cool looking power station with platform and an Obelisk.
Crystal Tech terrain set bundle
- Laser Cut Card
A veritable techno-cornucopia of laser-cut Necron themed terrain including a really fantastic looking Ageis defense line, and the new massive Grand Obelisk standing over 14" high.
Cyborg Apocalypse Obelisk - Bundle
Cyborg Hill set
- Micro Art Studio
A really fantastic looking Ageis line wall set for Necrons:
Cyber Fortification Set
An "Info Hub" for infinity but it would look pretty sweet painted in your Necron colors - could be used alone as a bit of decoration, or as part of a larger terrain piece, or even as a Necron objective marker. Ooo lots of ideas for this one - you could get several of them and use them like fence posts with a slice of semi-clear colored plastic - instant Necron Ageis Defense line.
- Mr Dandy
A line of Necron-themed Ageis Defense line under the name - Star Pharaoh - in his Wargamma range.
Wargamma Linked Barricades
- Secret Weapon
A gothic power generator with green rods and an Archeo-tech Obelisk.
- Hirst Arts - Skematic Pyramid
I've never had the time to get into these molds, but they look really fantastic!
How to use the Skematic Pyramid mold
- Tectonic Craft Studios
Laser-cut MDF scenery and objective markers. The Necroglyph looks fantastic. Technically labelled as Objective markers I think they could be used as either terrain bits or markers. The Necroglyph is 2.25 inches (60mm) tall and sits on a 50mm base.
Exploring other manufacturer's versions of murdering space robots.
- Anima Tactics - Alternative C'tan
Noticed a few models from Anima tactics that might make cool C'tan or a good base for conversion:
Legacy of Solomon
- Bitsbox - Bitspudlo - Trinity Empire:
Trinity Tomb Scarabs (Scarab Swarms). At one point they also sold a "Trinity Tomb Crawler" a perfect Triarach Stalker - it hasn't been seen in stock for quite some time.
- Copplestone Castings
A set of classic metal Terminator-style robots.
Copplestone Castings - Terminator Robots
- Helldorodo - Alternative C'tan
Noticed a few models from Helldorodo that might make cool C'tan, or a good base for conversion:
- Hydra Miniatures - Robot Queen
From their Retro Raygun robot lines, I think this metallic queen would be a cool way to add some variety to the traditional royal courts.
Kromlech is starting a new line and the first entry is these three Technomancer Staves! Looks like Cryptek bits to me. I am overjoyed and here's hoping for some nice legs/bodies etc to go with them so I can retire my sad sad conversion attempts.
- Micro Art Studio
Very slick single-piece molded swarm bases.
- Mr. Dandy
A robotic Arachnoid (Spyder) and Beetloids (Scarabs)
- Puppetswar Cyber models, weapons, and bits
NEW - Cyber Droid Elite (Lychguard), Cyber Droids (Immortals), Giant Cyber Beetles (Spyder), Cyber Anthropods (Wraiths), Cyber beetles (Scarabs), Cyber Bikes (Tomb Blades) with optional Bzzt (Tesla) weapon bit, Alternative Necron heads, and NEW Cyber Grim Reaper (C'Tan).
Cyber Range of Models
Bzzt (Tesla weapon)
- Taban Miniatures - Alternative C'tan
I think this Yellow Shinigami mini would make an amazing C'tan in a list with lots of Flayed ones!
Flayed One C'Tan
- Wargame Exclusive - Alternative Lords, Crypteks, and Destroyer lords
A really nice selection of figs in their Necrocyborg range. Lords and crypteks with a feminine twist.

Wow, those magnetic flight stands are the answers to all my prayers. No more cursing as my flight stand falls off... again! Good list, and thanks for posting it! Rep for you!
Just updated the first post with a bunch of crystal options and a really nice model I saw today that looks very C'Tanish!
Edit: About 4 guys in my club joined my order, we bought like $100+ of crystals. Great stuff! The crystals actually look great and sizes are perfect. I recommend 1 bag of mini and 1 bag of mixed all around. If you have LOTS of troops and smaller bases, can't go wrong with 2 bags of the minis. They look 'natural' as in they're not same angle all around and such (on purpose of course), looks like a natural crystal not some machined man made one. Great for basing!

I also added Techron crystal bases, an alternative magnetic flight stand, and more laser cut counters and tried to tidy it up a bit.

Thanks for this post! I was curious though... the 2.44 and 3mm rod sizes do not appear to be available at either vendor linked. The closest I can find is the 3/32" for the 2.44mm size, and 1/8" for the 3mm. Both of which are a tiny bit too thick. Would those be appropriate sizes to use for the warrior/destroyer/lord and monoliths? Tap Plastic's smallest size seems to be 1/4", which seems a bit too thick.
3/32": Plastruct, Inc. - Online Product Detail
1/8": Plastruct, Inc. - Online Product Detail
My 2 cents, the 3/32 was PERFECT however the 1/8" is actually like .01" Smaller than the 3mm ones. Not sure if going up a size is better, but they look fine to me. I had considered trying the larger size up but never bought them. I was afraid they'd be too big and not fit. Here's a pick to the side of my monolith with both rods.

Very nice. Thanks Dark... I may snag the red/blue ones from Plastruct now. I *really* want some purple ones though, so I was sad about the Tap Plastic's sizes
Tidied up the first post, and updated it with Dark Trainer's suggestions about rod sizes. Wow... there is no way to make that sound better.
Also updated with a link to Puppets war entire "Cyber" range, so their upcoming Wraith will appear there whenever it is ready:
*Edit* The "Wraiths" (Cyber Anthropods) are done. They appear in Puppetswar, Cyber range as linked in the first post. Go check them out because they are awesome!
