Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi Guys, this is going to be my first list for a Tyranid Army, I was hoping that I could get some advice on it.
Also, It is actually 1504 and I was hoping to take it to a friendly local tournament but I need to cut down the extra 4 points.
Anyways, here it is!
2 x Tyrant Guard w/ Lash Whips
2 x Hive Guard
Genestealer Brood (8) - 1 Broodlord w/ sything talons
- 7 Genestealers w/Toxin Sacs
2 x Termagaunt Squad (20)
2 x Tervigon w/ Toxin Sacs and Catalyst
1 x Trygon Prime
Any comments/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Shooting. You need SHOOTING! 2 Hive guard in a single unit? You're just asking for people with even a few transports to block you indefinitely, forcing you to try and tear apart hulls in combat while they shoot you dead.
And the Trygon Prime does nothing for your list. You already have a super killy unit, and one is enough for 1500 pts. Furthermore, with two tervigons and the swarmlord, you don't need another synapse creature. Drop the genestealers, too. You've got enough Troops. And boosted termagants will be fine. Try and afford adrenal glands on your tervigons, too.
Dropping the stealers and the Trygon Prime should net you more than enough points to get you more hive guard and a Tyrannofex with a rupture cannon. Ideally you'll have 3 units of hive guard, and if one of those "units" is a single hive guard, that's OK, too.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Solid advice. You may also want to consider Zoanthropes in a Spore if you're likely to be facing a few heavy tanks.
Thanks for the replies.
Firstly, What do you mean by "boosted Termagants"?
Secondly, what I'd like to know is how would the (modified) list fare against a Tau army?
My friend has already told me SOME of his army list (apparently he's not going to reveal it all cos of some cheezy stuff ) but
I know he'll have 3 Broadsides with twin-linked railguns (The railguns are really worrying to me with their 72" Str 10 Ap 1... )
I also know he'll have 1+ Crisis suit teams and at least 2 squads of Fire Warriors.
Tyranids usually do pretty well against Tau. A typical Tau list you'll come up against is: 8-12 Crisis Suits 4-6 Broadsides 1-2 Hammerheads, 1-2 firewarrior squads (with devilfish), some kroot, 1-2 pathfinder squads, and 2-4 Pirhanas (in a 2000 point list).
You'll need the Hive Guard and such to bust up his suits and armor. The Tyrannofex will help out a ton with that too. Gaunts can eat firewarriors pretty well and genestealers/hormagaunts will make quick work of broadsides (but first you need to break through the wall of kroot and vehicles that are going to be acting as speed bumps along the way.
"Boosted Termagants" are just those that are getting buffed by Tervigons with Adrenal/Toxin.
In addition to the above, I'd get rid of lash whips on the Tyrant Guard if you need the points. They honestly don't provide a huge benefit (except against maybe Grey Knight Force Halbreds).
