Welcome to Librarium Online!
Looking to add a Haemonculous with Venom Blade and Liquifier gun as 2nd HQ and would like some advice.
As far as miniature goes I'm a bit of a WYSIWYG kind of guy when it comes to modelling - I know the model has 4 arms, but want to mix them up a bit.
I know I have potentially 2 spare upgrade slots (1x additional and 1x standard load out - in this case a Splinter Pistol) with my VB and LG.
What are your thoughts and opinions regarding Stinger Pistols and their usefulness?
The Haemo would be running with 9 Wyches in a Raider. Would the SP give any additional help and aid to the wyches or am i better off with a 2 armed Haemo?
I personally would rather shoot a LG instead of the NP. Here is how I load up my Homns; close combat weapon, Venom blade, Liquifier gun, and either a Shatter shard or the Crucible of malediction depending on the opponent. With that load out you get the attack for extra CCW and the liquifier is your main shooting weapon. The Shard and crucible are great for their utility but I more often then not I go with the shard to eliminate characters hidden in units.
That is of course if I use my Homns in a raider rush scenario, but usually I end up playing a wwp list. If I play that route I keep them pretty basic. usually with a venom blade, hex rifle, and the WWP.
Hope that helps
Thanks for your reply and suggestions - sounds like a cunning plan.
The Haemo in question is part of my 1500pt list in the army list section.
I'm planning to push forward and upgrade this list to 1750 and 2000 respectively. As part of the push forward I'm intending to run a 2nd Wych squad in Raider, w. 2nd Haemo attached. My plan would then be to take 1st haemo w. VB,LG,CCW and either Shatter Shard, or Crucible, the 2nd with same load out but whichever of the previous 2 extras the first didnt take.
I'd also be looking to either take a 3rd Ravager or add a Razorwing. At the mo I have no FA units, have 5 Scourges, was thinking of upgrd them to 10 w. Splinter Cannons to the max, and possibly looking at either Reavers or Hellions, or a mix of both.
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
I find Hellions work better than Reavers, just the way I play I guess...
Another few options for the Haemonculus load outs, If I feel the need I take 3 for fun (Or an ancient and 2)
I give one a shattershard, Scissorhand, Stinger or Splinter pistol
The Ancient will take a Orb of despair, Casket of Flensing, Flesh Gauntlet and pistol (I know its alot of points but he's usually with wyches or Incubi and is always in range to use the orb or casket and then gets the fun of the flesh gauntlet)
the third goes with a warrior squad, Trueborn in raider with 2xSplinter cannons, 2x Blasters and takes a Flesh Gauntlet, Dark Gate and liquifier gun
thats just my set up, it is abit pumped and alot of people dont agree with it but if you play around with it and tactics sometimes they prove to be a good addition, also I wouldnt reccomend taking this set up in any less than 1750 points, Unless your against grey knights replace one of the Arcane with a Crucible and go nuts
Cheers guys, thanks for your ideas.
So I'm currently loading the first out with Venom Blade, Liquifier Gun, CCW and Crucible.
The second, could have the same load out, just with the shard instead of Crucible, however, how well do Agonisers work with Haemo's?
Both these guys are going to be attached to Wych squads - one with Hydra gauntlets and shardnet and impaler, the other with 2 x shardnet and impaler.
I sometimes put agonisers on my haemys but that is in a coven list and the haemy is the sole source of a power weapon (like in a squad of wracks since it doesn't make sense giving to an acothyst).
With a squad of wyches, the agoniser will be striking simul with most targets and the haemy just poses to be the weakest link, no invul save, an IC, a kill point and 2 wound liability that gives the opponent some combat resolution. Although I would rather kill things with his liquifier I would be more comfortable not charging him in and just let the little ladies do their thing. Hence, leave the haemy on the raider and charge the wyches separately.
I was playing around with a list and wanted to figure out a way the Haemy could participate in a squad of wyches so this is an experiment I want to try:
Upgrade a Haemy to an Ancient (to boost the initiative) and give him/her the standard liquifier and (just being crazy here) a huskblade/soultrap.
Give the Hekatrix the standard agoniser but also give her a Phantasm Grenade Launcher.
So the squad loses "fleet" but the squad would have to be raider mounted and I would even add sails to the raider as to get that raider as deep as you can into the enemy so you do not need the fleet.
It is kind of crazy, I even thought of putting this squad in the Dias of Destruction with Vect and just go for broke.
As for your other ideas: 3rd heavy slot I would suggest a Razorwing jetfighter, I would recommend 5 scourges with 2 heatlances (if using wwp) or haywire blasters if not. Hellions only if you are going to run the Baron and Reavers only if you are running a wwp list. I have had bad luck with Reavers when there is no portal to come out of, Scourges with haywires however have excellent range and can hit something 1st turn most of the time. Scourges also have a back-up option of being able to deepstrike when you do not have 1st move and fear of losing your scourges to a gunline. With haywire blasters, you can deepstrike in a safe area and still be in range of your initial target (and 5 scourges have a small foot print and can land in a tight formation fairly easily). Reavers on the other hand tend to get picked on and even a 3+ save can only do so much, they attract a lot of attention (because they are so cool) and thus are usually a priority target for the opponent (and the squad is small enough to fail morale or lose your heatlances, blasters or whatever to torrent).
Just my thoughts.

I have recently been using Mindphase Gauntlets on Haemies in Wrack squads in my Coven list to great effect. It is somewhat situational against some armies, but having a powerful IC/MC completely stopped from attacking is just to nice to pass up. I take one on my Haemy Ancient, and with Furious Charge, he's hitting initiative 6, getting 5 attacks with it off before most dangerous characters/MCs. Remember that they have to take a Strenght test AND a Leadership test PER HIT, one single fail not allowing them to attack. This has saved my bacon several times. I wouldn't recommend it for using your Haemy as a Token caddy for Wyches, or if using him as your only HQ, but in Wrack Squads or Themed Coven lists they have a very special place. Plus the new GW Haemy model comes with a Mindphase/Flesh Gauntlet on one hand, so no conversion is required. =)
