Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am starting an eldar army based on an alliance between a Craftworld strikeforce and an Exodite dragon rider squad. I also want this list to be based off of two battleforces. Here is the basic, non-calculated army list idea i have:
-Farseer with 2 powers and singing spear
-Autarch mounted on jetbike (which will be represented by a dragon)
-19 Gurdians with 2 weapon platforms, Warlock with Conceal
-10 Dire Avengers mounted in a wave serpent
-5 Pathfinders (which will be represented by Exodites)
-5 Fire Dragons with Exarch mounted in a wave serpent
-10 Banshees or Scorpions
-5 Singing Spears (represented as Exodite Dragon Knights)
-War Walker squadron
-Wraithlord with flamers, sword (represented by a War Dragon)
What do you think? How should I arm my vehicles? Banshees or Scorpions? Any other thoughts? I want this to be a take-all-comers style army.
u need to out ur banshees in a vehicle
I like to arm them with missile launchers as the blast is S4 so can be defensive
Don't get me wrong, most of the time I'm taking a missile launcher too. But not because it can be fired as a defensive weapon.
Does the list look balanced enough to handle all types of enemies?
like everything in the eldar army, Banshee or Scorpion depends on the target.
Against IG troops, Scorpions are the way to go, however against terminators Banshee's will end up with more kills.
Again how to army your vechicals depends on what your facing, however EML are a good all rounder, followed by Scat lasers.
Wraithlords need to be played well, their size make them easy fire targets, but they are effectively immune to S4... so you can use it to tie up a unit, smash tanks, heck even an EML on it is handy just to haras.
War walkers are constantly underrated for some reason, just kit them out correctly and keep them at range
I don't see any big problems, just thinker with the wargear a bit for the different army your facing.
For a bit of fun try warlocks on jetbikes instead of Spears
Shining spears are an interesting option with plenty of hit, but they are hard to use, mostly due to having to engage in hit-and-run schenanigans and various screening/turboboosting/fortuning ploys with a farseer in some other unit in order to keep them alive as opposed to just having the more straightforward resiliancy of putting a jetbike farseer right in the squad and relying on that invul save with fortune re-roll wether flying around the board or stuck in a long melee.
You're already doing a bunch of converting, and might have to buy up some fantasy models so maybe leave yourself a little flexibility on the riders weapons and details until you've tried things out a bit.
It is a fun concept though, and you might well get yourself an award just for having a spectacular army.
Oh, and you can't have two weapon platforms in a guardian squad
Found an interesting and maybe relevant batrep.

Which isn't to say that shining spears are simply bad. Just that they're quite the glass cannon unit.
