If neutron blasters were strength 6 and assault 2, would you take vespid?
With R12" still, no
Hell, with R18" S5 AP3 I'd probably take them, 12" range is just pants though and leaves them too open for assault the next phase
Yeah, they'd need better CC ability or longer range to be worth it (or be dirt cheap)
Yeah, that would be fine too. My point was that their attributes dont fit their role. There are many ways to resolve that issue.
What role are they? I think they're close range, fast anti marine, useful to drop a combat squad reliably, but horribly fragile. I'd never use them because they are too expensive (points and dollars) in order to justify it.
If love to see vespid reworked as cheap anti meq powerhouses. Coupled with a new plastic box set, this would make my day. I'm thinking:
Ws bs s t w I a ld sv
3 3 3 3 1 4 1 7 5+
R s ap type
18" 3 3 assault 2
For 8 points, squads from 3-12 maybe 6-12.
Still fast attack slot.
What do you guys think?
8 points would maybe be a bit too cheap as a unit of 12 has almost 100% chance to drop a combat squad and will put a sever dent in a full 10 man for only 104 points
Life is just a game, but atleast the graphics are awesome!
They need a niche that isn't done by another unit. I think a shooting attack as indicated above with a better initiative and rending claws might be handy.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
