We have a new Dark Eldar player who plays the same list which includes 8 Venoms each carrying Kabalite warriors or elites. The Venoms trade their splinter rifle in for another splinter cannon. He also has 3 Ravagers that sit back and fire at a distance. As the Venoms move up 12" they get 12 shots each and if they get close enough, another 10 shots from passengers. I played him last week, but it was 2 on 2. My Necrons did ok, but so did he. Another Necron player played the DE guy last night and lost badly. Got any tips against this kind of thing? In my game, I played Orikan and the C'Tan with Writhing Worldscape to create the "killer terrain" list. I found out something important after the game; DE player cannot claim their 5+ invulnerable save (flickerfield) against dangerous terrain tests. It's in their FAQ. Also, the DE player cheated in that he moved 12" and his passengers still shot. I was too clueless to notice. I would think a few Destructeks with Eldritch Lance may help bust the Venoms.
best thing i can tell u with de is kill the light armor vehicles asap. Lance weapons 1st bring all the long range weapons u can. Then kill the Vemons. The sooner u get all of them on the ground the sooner u can take them apart. My friend normal plays with 15 to 26 dark lances at a time and with a ton of witches. That is what i've had to do against him.
DestrucTeks, Heavy Destroyers, anything with a Telsa-Destructor on it. Heck, even just glancing them to pieces with gauss/tesla works. They are open-topped so you're only at a -1 on the damage table, not a -2.
First, I would say don't pay for anything close combat oriented. The Dark Eldar are, by in large, a pretty decent CC competitor. If he takes Wyches they will definitely give you a hard time. I would say don't try anything to fancy, load up on Warriors/Immortals and maybe try some Death marks, if they DS in, and they are next to a raider, mark them and get as many shots to hit as possible to up the chances of getting glancing hits.
Heavy Destroyers might actually do some good against them aswell, as they are fairly long ranged for the crons, and are capable of punching holes in most targets. If the player trys to stay as far as possible for the lances to hit and not be shot back in return, the HDs should be able to either keep him completely out of range, or choosing which HDs to shoot.
I have played a few games as Dark Eldar, and I can say as fun and amazing as Raider spam can be, they are very flimsy vehicles. hah The best thing you can do is outnumber their raiders with guns that can harm them, being Necrons, damn near everything CAN do something, which is a good advantage against 11 armor with open tops.
Depending on the Pts you play at, the Stormlord MIGHT be a viable option, if you can get the storm to stay up and just use it to nail his raiders, which might not work because of the 6 to hit, the raiders should fall fast. Raiders are amazing against Str4 weapons, but thats about it.
Overall, more dakka. Raiders can only take so much punishment. And keep an eye on the rules, if he cheats, call him out on it without hesitation.
Just watch out for the vehicle upgrade that gives his skimmers a 5+ cover save (flickerfields, I think), and the other one that reduces the range on your guns by 6". That's quite annoying. You think you're in range, and then all of a sudden, you aren't, and you've wasted your shot. And of course, he might be going flat out with some vehicles, giving them a 4+ cover anyway.
"Peace, through superior firepower."
yes, watch out for that 6'' ability, cost me so much
and take lots of tesla weapons and lance teks, the lance are for busting the big scary (cough) AV12 tanks at a far while the tesla will just destroy everything with volume
moral of the story
cant trust Dark Eldar, they'll stab you in the back for a pain token
In my honest opinion, as a player of both, I think that DE are one of the better counters to the new Crons. Night Shields is the main problem, as they can shift around out of many dangerous spots and work in unison destroying a couple of parts of your army every turn. Also, Lances are as lances do, they take down our Quantum shielded vehicles just like they take most other things down. I'd say using things like Night Scythes with Immortals in and a couple of Veil of Darkness squads, as well as a couple of command barges will rid them of their main advantage as well as close the range so we can actually shoot them. Thats just my 2 pence, looking at it with knowledge of both armies.

Stalkers could help. Give them the large blast to try and hit 2 venoms, then twin-link crypteks against him. Got any ghost arks? I think an armour 13 army might be what you need here. Barges to take down the transports, arks to move warriors around, and stalkers to pick targets out with the gauss cannon. You said that you don't have much in your army, but i still think your best list would be running as much AV13 as possible, unless he runs blasters in each squad, then it might be more difficult.
