Welcome to Librarium Online!
Friend is wanting to start nids, but there new codex is coming out soon, also NEW models... which is probably the biggest part. nothing like spending a shitload of $$ and having older models
so what do u guys think? wait it out or buy now?
Some rumors put the codex and probably models along with it not coming out until as late as May '05. So the question is, do you want to wait that long? Many people would recommend buying the codex used if you can firstly. So that's a good idea if you can do that. Not every single model is going to change and look different. If you like the way they look now and really want to play then look for a used codex and buy some models that you like the look of and have fun!
Do not meddle in the affairs of Tyranids, for you are crunchy and taste good with everything!
Well, most likely the gaunts aren't changing (at least not much), and you could buy some genestealers, as they aren't that bad, just not multipart...
And I'd get some warriors, and if they change dramatically for the better when new models are released, just buy the new ones, and you'll have loads of good bitz from the old to do great conversions. In fact, you could buy the battleforce, which includes all those things. Then you have a solid core, with which to play some 40k in 40 mins
The Battleforce box is great for the money. Looking back, I should have bought like 2 or 3 of them to start off. It seems insane but you really do need all that crap.
Add biovores, a carnifex, a HT and a couple guard and you're damn near done.
That and a crapload more gaunts.
ok, i'm in the same boat. collecting nids under the watchfull eye of the new codex.
for sure there keeping warriors, gaunts and biovores/sporemines the same. what you should do is buy a buttload of gaunts, build up all the hormagaunts and leave the arms off the termigaunts, noone knows if spinegaunts will still be in next codex.
paint em up. i swear, you'll be painting till the new codex comes out.
also, your safe with warriors, you may wanna leave there arms off too though cause we don't know where the warrior armory might go.
biovores are safe. paint em, paint your spoor mines, they are goodness.
err, your friend, i mean tell your friend.....
Take my words with a grain of salt, i am not the tactical genius i think i am!
