    My Orky Army

As mentioned in the Introductions thread, I have 587 points of Orks. These are:

    HQ
Warboss- Slugga, 'Uge Choppa, Kustom Jobs: Shootier & More Dakka, Bannawaver w/Bosspole, Waagh! Banner

    Troops
    Grotz - 18 Grotz, 1 Slaver w/Slugga & Choppa
    Grotz - 17 Grotz, 1 Slaver w/Slugga & Choppa
Slugga Boyz - 17 Slugga Boyz
Slugga Boyz - 16 Slugga Boyz

    Fast Attack
    Wartrak - Twin-Linked Big Shootaz

    -------------------------------------------

And there you have it. I also have a squad of second edition Kommandos waiting to be painted up, but they could probs be any Elites choice (barring Stormboyz).

So, what Elites choice should I take? And then how should I expand this army further?

As elites go, I do not like Flash Gits. Kommandos are pretty poor for an elite choice simply because they have the ability to infiltrate (and the extra D6 in cover is not too important). Hard and Scar Boys are not too bad, you are trading resilency with one troop for effectiveness in HTH with the other. I have to definitely recommend Stormboys. Any extra mobility for Orks are welcome and the jump packs can provide another unit of troops that can quickly advance across the table.

As fast attack goes, you have a lot of choices. I definitely recommend getting a full single squadron of war buggies. Bikes are fun and the immunity to morale checks are nice. Truck boys are a good choice also, however they can be a bit tricky to use. As you are limited to a squad of ten, they really need to be deployed supported by other troops. You need to expect that they will break and need other units nearby to mob up. Still, with a mobile HQ unit they can provide that extra edge in an assault.

And you know how I feel about heavy support... gotta repect Da Killa Kans...

A slugga is a one handed weapon. The downside is he will not get two attacks (CC wep and pistol) in assault. The plus side is he can do something up to 12" away in the shooting phase other than make faces at the enemy.

Shoota is a two handed (24" range rapid fire) varient.

Snik, these are /really/ old posts, don't bother dragging them up. It's a waste of time, most people involved aren't around any more and, if they are, have been corrected by now.
