what should i equip with disruption fields? cos they seem like thier cheap but they could be worthless and i would love to streamline my crons as much as possible
Disruption fields aren't really worth it on normal warrior squads, but put them on scarabs and they are MEAN. Four bases, with the ability to turbo boost and fly, thats 12 attacks on a vehicle which can cause glancings. They're also good for holding up high-toughness creatures, as the hard creature will kill them eventually, but there is quite a high chance that they will get their points back against it. So by all means, stick them on scarabs, but dont bother with anything else.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.
"War does not determine who is right - only who is left."
The only places where disruption fields are useful is scarabs and maybe flayed ones if you know you'll be able to infiltrate near the opponent's vehicles.
anything except your warriors i did that once and finally manage to destroy a dreadnoght, after 4 turns!!!!!!
the cheapest option would be scarabs but i usually manifest them by my 2 tomb spyders.
i am not a spammer, i merely post replies irrelevant to the topic
there are three things that a beatsman loves to do, fight, drink and "a-hem" the sheep at the local empire settlements
the only place worth putting them is your scarabs. everything else has to few atttacks or is too slow to assure tankbusting goodness.
why scarabs you ask? well, 10 bases charge into a vehicle getting 4 attacks each.
40 attacks on a stationary vehicle = 6 or 7 rolls on the glancing hit chart. if you dont get a 6 theres always the chance youll get a few immobilised or weapon destroyed results, destroying the vehicle anyway. if youre smart and put your scarabs around the vehicle so they block the exits for transported troops you can get even more points back. if the thing wasnt stationary youre still getting 3 or 4 chances to blow it up. hell, even against skimmers you can rely on scarabs to do some damage.
im sure many people will agree, theres no greater story than those involving 170 points worth of scarabs blowing up a 255 point landraider and killing the terminators riding inside.
note: d.fields are only good against vehicles. some people seem to think they allow low strength troops to damage things they normally couldnt damage. this is untrue. read your codex.
Disruption fields are also great with a Destroyer Lord w/ a Scythe.
You charge it = 4 Attacks, = 8 AP rolls. If you don't score Penetrates, you could always score some Glances. If you joint it with 10 Scarabs which also have Disruption fields... *sounds evil*
sounds fun well thats all good cos now my warrior squads are cheaper! never a bad thing
You can only assault the side of the vehicle in which you are facing, you cannot "go around" to the sides or rearif youre smart and put your scarabs around the vehicle so they block the exits for transported troops you can get even more points back.
Im glad you killed a landraider, the guy might learn never to field one again heh
yes, you're right, you cant ASSAULT around corners to pick whatever side you want. you can MOVE your scarabs however you want though. just have to set them up properly in the movement phase, and then assault them straight into the thing blocking all the exits. doesnt work so well with small groups of scarabs, but who uses small groups of scarabs?
scarabs can move 12 inches and then assault, that can give them a good opportunity to "wrap around" during the movement phase, you DO have to move directly into assault, but nobody said anything about having to move Striaght toward the tank "wink wink nudge nudge" you get 2 inches of coherency to work with with each scarab, and most tanks are only 6 inches wide at the most, like a rihno, just wrap around the back and sides, and presto!
