I just got 5 nid warriors, 2 carnifexs, 2 biovores, and a crapload of parts, all for trade of 80 songs. I've decided to paint the armors plates: basecoat- black, Hvy dry brush- red gore, and light drybrush- blood red. Anybody know what go good on the skin and what kind of effects i should do? Heck, I might even get a bunch of gaunts.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces

If you go that way, you can go the codex scheme which is bleach bones skin. The codex exlains thge exact way to achieve this affect under the painting section. You could also leave the skin black and high very lightly with grey to bring out the detail. Dont forget the teeth. I painted their eyes scorpion green and it looks cool.
I copied the battle for Macragge color scheme which is blood red skin and black carapace with ice blue highlights.
Wish I had a digital camera.
i wish i had decent painting skills. myself, i painted my warriors an all-camouflage scheme with two colours i like to call "hunter's uniform" and "country hunter".
Seeding Swarm Deathbringer: 16/5/13
Witch Hunters: Currently in development.
If You're planning to make an actual army to game with out of them, I suggest getting the Codex, figuring out the army list (with feedback) and properly assembling them before starting to paint...
If You're just in it for the painting, then the others will probably be of more help... I stick more to the rules and gaming part myself. =)
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."

Dipping is really easy, I tried it and it works wonders.
Enables everyone to paint a 2000 point army in four or five nights.
The results are pretty mediocre, if you don't do it right...
I sold all my dipped bugs. I'm going to paint them properly this time around.
At least I made a profit on the dipped ones :glare:
