Welcome to Librarium Online!
im not sure can you guys help me out
I usually go for the whole thing and go for a nightbringer. Never use a c'tan in a 1500 point list unless you really know what your're doing. I voted nightbringer because I like the model more.
Well, Nightbringer has alot mroe killing power, but I love the Deciver, extra mroale saves, troop redeployment, and most importantly he takes up alot fo points in 1,500 pt. game and his final ability to terrify a unit assulting one of your squad with make your necrons even harder to kill.
I've got to go with Big D. He's just more fun, rules wise. And he just meshes so well with those P-Rahs. Nightbringer? he's just the Grim Reaper with a bad attitude, no personality.
Gyauayuayuayua! Ja! Ve vill crush da little girly men in deir little girl men awrmor! Ve vill see owur enemies driven befowur us, und hear da lahmentaytions of deir wemen. Und from owur home planet, de stayte uf Califowurnia, ve vill lawunch owur mighty offensive. Even if you kill us, ve'll be bach!! Gyauayauyauyauyau!
-Arnoldunit Schwarzenecronegger; when questioned about the impending doom he would rain down upon the heads of his doomed enemies.
I used to say Nightbringer, but after facing some genestealers and suffering 3 wounds after killing 6 of them, I'm starting to think Deceiver is better... since it can *always* leave battle, and do all sorts of cool stuff...
In a one-on-one battle against someone I know, I'd bring Nightbringer (except against Nids). In a tournament, Deceiver is more versatile...
But you have to admit the whole idea and (Looks wise) nightbringer is cooler

Slowly will start playing: Iyanden, and Chaos.
Actually nightbringer does more damage to nids.
Nids, IG, Orks, Sisters of battle
Spam, Demonhunters, Tau, Eldar, Chaos
the deciever can be used effectivly agianst low leadership armies on his own, but to get the most out of him whil facing higher leadership armies he should be used with paraihs, Flayed ones and NL with gaze of flame.
But in a 1500pt battle i wouldnt take c'tan or paraihs unless facing loads of 2+ amour saves
the nightbringer looks scary  but the opponent knowing that he is the stronger of ther two c'tan will be more likely to concentrate their fire onto him causing 360pts to go down the bin.

I don't think it would matter since you can only have 1 c'tan per army. <_< 300 is a lot of points too!Originally posted by Random Zwerg@Dec 11 2004, 16:13

Easy enough. Don't use any C'tan as that's 500 points you haven't spent on Warriors that just won't go away. With 54 Warriors and about 12 Destroyers with a Lord for 1500 points you can't really get phased out unless your opponent is really lucky with dice or he has 18 lascannon in his beardy Army of Ultimate Impossibility (not like your well designed Necron army).
C'tan are all very well in big games where you have the luxury of extra points or Meat grinder style matches where your Warriors keep coming back, but I wouldn't even bring a Monolith to the fight when you're rolling that many Warriors glancing dice against all your enemy's vehicles in range every turn. I also doubt very much if you're going to get assaulted by someone big when you can either waste them with shooting or mob them with numbers in a fight. No character is so big that he can't be brought down by tactical squads. I've lost Abbadon to a big Guardian squad with lasguns after him ignoring 12 lascannon hits in the first 3 turns. You lose 500 points of C'tan and that's a third of your army down the drain, often in the first 3 turns if they're using lots of Guard Armour, whilst if you exchange him for Warriors that Armour is going to be a lot of scrap by turn 3.
