Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have heard an unsettling rumor that it is likely that when the new Codex is released, they will do away wiht the genus/gaunt maker? I hope this is not true, as it is very important to be able to adjust for your opponent you know?
as far as I know, mutable genus will still be in the new codex but they have removed the one-off mutants as the areb eeing abused too much.
you know, Hive Node, Acid Blood, Weapon-Mutant, Exceptional Size...
i sure hope they don't get rid of those .

Witch Hunters: Currently in development.
I disagree. I think it's more important to come up with a single list that's flexible enough to tackle any opponent. For me, the art of building a list is balance.Originally posted by hotspike18@Dec 11 2004, 22:45

But each to his own.
Back on topic, I have no use for acid blood, weapon beast or exceptional size but I would miss hive node. A lot of us would really have to rethink our lists and tactics if we all had to put up with instinctive behaviour. Still, it would certainly make the game more challenging (interesting?). As it stands, we can rid ourselves of our one true downside for the price of a gaunt.
As far as mutable genera are concerned, it's important that GW don't make existing models illegal. If I'd spent my money and time on converting models only to find them unusable, I'd be pretty miffed.
Well, my real concern is that I am just about to dip my feet into actually getting some models, and I don't want them to be a waste of time. I know from the last codex they changed some models stayed consistent right? Anyway, I just dont want to buy a 50 dollar Hive Tyrant twice. Of course, if they gave it a good makeover......I don't know what I would do without hive nodes. That would be a real problem.
to get rid of Hive node is to get rid of sanity of the nids. Also, Yeah my concern is that they dont change all the models so that i have to buy them again!!! i dont have the money to anyway

Slowly will start playing: Iyanden, and Chaos.
True - all the rumours state that the one-off mutant is going.
However, with the focus seeming to shift to the mid-size bugz (especially the warriors) the loss of hive node may not be too bad a thing.
Even now, if you take a brood of 3 cc warriors with leaping, the can follow right behind those gaunts and keep them in line.
Also, there's a rumor floating around about bugz within synapse (or having synapse - it's a little unclear; after all, it IS a rumour) not being able to be insta-killed.
Let's hope the new codex sees an improvement in the warriors survivability.
apart from that, the instinctive behaviour table is also going to be redone as I heard
I heard that the instinctive behavior table wasnt being revised, its being done away with completely. I think this would be to make up for there being no more hive nodes (though I think those are staying).
