Has anyone made a successful Kroot Mercs army? Im kind of interested and wanting to know if anyone knows what they are doing.
I made a 500pts kroot merc army just recently, and i have'nt tested it out yet 'cos all my 40k mates are too chicken to play me!!
all of the stuff is 5pts extra 'cos the hq is a legendry shaper(made the rule up myself).

Don't throw soap at Nurglings!
If you havent already, take a look at the rules for an all-kroot army in Chapter Approved 2004. To put it simply, you can deffintly make a good army from pure kroot.
Really? I'll have to look into that...
Tau'n Expeditionary force:
PM me any fluff or pictures on the adeptus custodes you can find!!!!
I have a 1000 point Kroot Mercenary Warband. Suffice it to say though, it hasnt been successful. The only time I've gotten to field it was against Necrons, yeouch. You really need to go first, and I really would have liked more cover on the board I was playing. I did not do well, but I have modified my armylist to help it out in the future hopefully. I've only painted roughly a fourth of the army, several of the Shapers are conversions wielding chainswords (to represent eviscerators) and bolt pistols I will try to play it more often after more of it is painted up. I also am looking at fielding kroot mercenaries as a supporting element to a Radical Daemonhunter army. Armylist http://www.librarium-online.com/inde...howtopic=26981
The Kroot army list I'm working on is different though.
Where are the rules for the Kroot Merc army found, Chapter Approved 2004?
Yeah, not sure what page though.
I've been considering doing a Kroot army just for the conversion and cool factor. It's a army that is never played. Problem is, of course, I gotta finish my Tau.
AA 2 weeks clean
It is spelled Mechanized not Mechanisied.
Dude, you can use Kroot mercenaries with any army except SM, nids, sisters of battle, or Tau (they aren't supposed to know the contract ain't exclusive). There are some limits on using them this way, but not a lot. They make a pretty rocking addition to several armies (tau with em would be really broken).
They have a fast attack choice, called vulture kroot. They count as jump pack troops that don't have to make dangerous terrain tests in woods OMG.
You forgot about necrons, kroot mercs can not fight with necrons. And for those you trying to bend your codex, they also can not fight with Farsight Armies.
However, if you use kroot mercenaries as a part of another army, then you lose a lot of their special rules, signature adaptations, kroothawk totems for instance. (Dont know what those are, then pick up CA 2004 and turn to page 32.)
Also, dont forget the kroot hunters (kroot snipers are hella fun), or that the Kroot Hound packs get Hyperactive Nymune Organs (as if you needed anymore help getting to an enemy). Thats right, all these wonderful adaptations, totems, and conversions can be yours if you pick up Chapter Approved right now, act quickly.
Yeah I made up a little army on my Army Builder and they have some pretty cool stuff. Like there adaptions and such. Definately cool.
