Infact Im very hungry but thats not really what this post is about.
ACTUAL TOPIC: Do you think 10 flayed ones with a Lord on foot Veil of Darknessing into the back would be effective? I was very happy with my single unit of played ones last time I played with them.
personally i think you would be better off deep striking/infiltrating your FO's and keeping your lord with some immortals. You could always give it a go tho, no hurt in trying :hmm:
Considering that you cannot assault after vod'ing, that squad is gonna be bait for every blast template weapon in the opponent's army for an entire turn. Much better to deepstrike or infiltrate them behind cover and then support them with a squad of wraiths or scarabs.
Yup. No assaults after deepstriking. There are exceptions (not for necrons though ) but they will explicitly tell you if you can.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Well I will be fielding 2 Lord so If I lose that one its not the whole end of the world. I will play with it a bit. Tell you guys what happens. Any other advice would be nice. I already have VOD into cover. Thanks. (Y)
yep, you can't assault after you use Veil of Darkness, so using VoD with flayed ones leaves them open to a round of shooting before they can assault.
On the other hand, if you VoD with a unit of Warriors or Immortals, they get their full ranged attacks and can probably kill or cripple any unit they teleport next to.
So I wouldn't waste your time VoDing Flayed Ones, they'll just die horribly.
vod'ing behind enemy lines was made for immortals. Only to be used when there is no ap3 blast weapons on the board (not fun!. Their toughness 5 will let them last the round through alot of shooting.
Warriors and flayed ones......? I'd be concerned you'd lose too many during the round of firing. Also you will only be able to take 10 Flayed Ones. So a 20 man warrior squad would be much more resilient.
Watch out tho, you may scatter out of rapid fire range, and then have to deal with a round of rapid fire punishment yourself.
Wednesday nights at GW (Ontario Mills in Ontario, CA)
4-7-05 - SoB 1200, S&D Omega, Opponent was new.
4-7-05 - ME! Chris beats me again with his space wolves (he is a good palyer without his eldar).
I shall take all of this into hand and figure out what I should do. I will probably go with immortals but it's not final. Thanks a bunch. Anymore comments welcomed.
IMMORTALS, IMMORTALS, IMMORTALS, yeah, yeah....(throws Beavis tantrum)...Immortals=VoD!!!
