comander o'shova is great and all except his broken faction rules. aun'shi is good too but he is ethreal so you have to make all the leadship tests and, can be instant killed easy if he fails his save. i think it is unfair that space marines and chaos get all the best special characters while tau are stuck with two barely average characters. space marines have special characters for every chapter, and chaos get all their greater demons (or daemons). every army except tau and ork have psykers so why cant tau have them too.
well, first off, special characters need opponent approval, that's why most ppl don't use them, that and if they die it kinda seems stupid.... special characters are good for fluff, just not gamewise....
Mad Props to Angel_of_Rust for the sig.
I dont know about you guys but here in ST. Louis and in Chicago all the tounies I have been too allow you one special character, whoever. I use Aunshi and he is awesome, a real surprise to opponents because he can make a squad hth comabt worthy, not the best mind you but decent they can hold their own for awhile. You put Aunshi in a transport with a squad and he is protected pretty much and since the squad is unbreakable even if they crash he wont be affected very quickly which should give him time to get into hth or run for cover, which ever is most important at the time.

I saw some where somebody had come up with a cool Special Character.
A Stealth suit commander with a Shield Gen. and Plasma Rifle!!
i dont know about you guys but i think that the special chars are *cough just as good *cough as the other special chars like um, the nightbringer and the deciever. i never hear anyone get so scared of o'shova or aun'shi as they do with the nightbringer.
i do like Angkor Prok, though, he makes kroot decent enough to use in combat. (kroots within 6" can reroll hit rolls.) that practically ups their killing rate like 25-40%
Warhammer is expensive.
you think is as special chars is as good as the Nightbringer? sucks to be you
Karma specter: The reason Tau don't have psykers is the fact that they don't have the navigator gene (if they had the navigator gene, there would have to be dark tau och chaos tau). I would like to see a gundrone special character lol
well understand not have psykers but still i think that tau special charcters need a redo. i think the special drone would be cool, it would have twin linked plasma rifles and 4+ invernable save. stealth suit with a plasma rifle would be cool too
Special characters are one of the biggest let-down of 40K. They are totally unbalanced and detract from the game rather than add to it. They are just too weak, speaking realisitcally, and yet still too powerful game-wise. They'd be fine in Epic, but not a skirmish-level game.

look your characters are pretty good the only thing that your army is missing is power weapons. IM surprised that a honor blade does not ignore armor
