The only forgeworld model I have is the Forgeworld Wave Serpent. The Nightwing looks reasonable, and I like the Nightspinner model, but it's rules suck.

i've got a scorpion tank. i'll tell you about it when its painted and i've had a chance to use it but the rules and model look great.
also have a brightlance turret for my falcon- it was cheaper than buying the whole waveserpent kit okay? the turret leaves me enough scatterlasers to convert a firestorm turret too :shifty:

Also they are unlikely to give you the advantage of suprise as you need your opponents permision to use them!

Do you actually have to say to your opponent, can i use this plane ??

There so big on points, that the rest of your army is very small...and most of the time they say yes anyway.

I didnt think you needed permission to use them, because they are an official entry in an official publication., and it gives you official rules to use them...

I think the general rule was if the model doesn't have rules in the standard codex then you would need to ask.

In tournaments its becoming the norm for instead of having to ask you just can't use em.

Example: Winged Hive Tyrant = ok because the rules for the Tyrant and its wings are in the codex.

Example: Warhound Titan = no go because the rules are not in any codex, but in Imperial Armor.

Generally I have a number of forgeworld models and even when they were in the codex (ig imolators before codex witchhunters came out) I always asked my opponents permission. I have never had anyone say "no", and more to the point, I ha ve never had anyone turn around after the game and whinge. I do it as a courtessey, but also to prevent the latter.

I dont generally say "do you have any problem with me using this plane?" more often I will say "do you have a problem with me using forgeworld stuff" or "do you have a problem with me using a Valkyrie". More often than not the latter approach is better cos generally they say yes without bothing to check the details as they tend to think they know what it is, but if they ask I provide rules and stats.

    Ok. Fair enough.

Most of the guys here in hong Kong wouldnt give a rats bum. all they care about is number of models on the table and how to wipe you out ASAP. They dont care what there up against.
