I like the idea of cunning orks that outsmart their enemies, so I was thinking I might like to have a Bloodaxe army. Thing is I don't know any of the clan rules, (I don't have the old CA) and as much as I like their idea Kommandos seem to suck just a bit. (Why do they have no save? (N))
So what makes a Bloodaxe army different from a standard ork army? I am guessing Kommandos as Troops, but anything else? It would be cool if there was some sort of rule where stacks of your boyz could infiltrate...
Blood Axes use Kommandos as Core Mobs, their troop mobs can be led by Mekboyz or Mad Doks, and the Waaaghboss can ride a Chimera. Personally, I don't really like them because I think Orks who act like humies are sissies.

Yeah I don't like how they act like humies with the camo and all.
I was just thinking of using Bloodaxe rules for my own mob, coz I want a band of Orks that is cunning and sneaky but still Orky.
I reckon a heap of infiltrating Orks would take my puny enemies by surprise good and proper! And i can imagine them crawling through the mud and springing ambushes.
The blood axes may also choose 3 looted vehicles instead of the normal one, however they canot have a battlewagon as a heavy support choice.
Not sure if they are the rules posted in white dwarf but its how they are done in "Army Builder". (Y)
That's not cool. I love my gigantic battlewagon. Looks like I'll just keep my freebootaz and have some Kommandos for fluff and extra sneakiness.
You could always use your battlewagon as a looted Land Raider depending on how it looks?
Im in the same boat myself, i really like the idea of blood axe commando's and i especially like the old style models, but i too have a battlewagon that would be left obsolete and im quite proud of the way it looks.
I'll check army builder again and see if the Kommandos are still alowed the usual 0-1 Battlewagon that ordinary orks get aswel as their own special stuff.
I cant remmember where i read it (probably the Ork codex) but there was a story of Ork Kommandos breaking into an imperial compound and taking out the sentrys. The imperial commander of the base reported back to his HQ informing them that the Orks were using camouflage(sp?) and tactics similar to imperials. The HQ didnt believe him and had him executed. I think this is a great story and really gives you an idea of what the Kommandos are all about, also how the Imperium underestimate the kunning of the orks.
I'd love to switch over to a kommando force.
