If you give the Stick bomb Chucka to, lets say a killa-kan, and you walk into a unit it counts as a tank shock attack right?
So technically if you walk into a unit and it falls back, and then you assault the freshly broken unit they must pass another moral check or be whipped out, correct?
This seems like a pretty impressive terror tactic that I have never seen the Orks use before. Three Killa-Kans all equipped with the Bomb chucka would cause three tank shock attacks right? If anything it’s a good way to break push a unit back and possibly gain access to another unit previously blocked by the first.
What do you think? (Y) or (N)
huh... thet's something I hadn't thought of... it brings up a few questions though
along the lines of "can meltabombs be used in a last ditch effort against a tank shocking killa kan?"
it's not hard to imagine a killa kan or dreadnaught moving through a sacrificial first line of defense to tie up an important hq or squad of heavy weapons troopers.
furthermore, would this allow an ork walker to break from combat? wouldn't that essentially amount to a free chare attack every turn/prevent it from becoming tied up in combat and unable to shoot?
I don't have a difinitive answer for you, but I don't see any specific problems with it myself. anyone out there have a resaon this shouldn't work?
I would say yes to the melta bombs. I picture the walker to be stampeeding forward screeming "Booga booga!" not puting any effort into self defence at the time.
I dont thin kit would allow them to break off from a combat they are already engaged in. Walkers cannot move away from close combat, and you need to move in order to preform a tank shock.
I can see a unit winning a round of combat and using its followup moves to tank shock another unit though.
Tank shocking has to be done in the move phase, and if you "move" into the unit in the assualt phase, you are assualting them, and cannot Shock them. This is true for consolidations moves into the other units, you count as charging.
Defending against Tank shocks does not count as a combat, so both the Kan and the unit are free to move. It can be imagined that the unit dodges out of the way of this rampaging collection of rusty nails, pausing just quick enough to fire a shot off, or lob a bomb, all the while moving away.
I think you misunderstood our suggestion. if a killa kan is equipped with stick bomb chuckas it can tank shock in the movement phase and then assult them in the assult phase
the only really unlear bit is weather or not this allows a killa kan already engaged in cc to tank shock in it's movement phase and then get a fresh assult.
I dont think a walker engaged in close combat is allowed to move. And since you must move to tank shock i dont think it would be allowed.
Here is another question.
Can you tank shock somone that is engaged in close combat with another walker?
Killa can unit A dig in to a big unit and is unable to break/defeat them in close combat. Next movement phase Killa Kan unit B tank shocks them out of close combat freeing up Unit A to assault again?
The unit is in combat, and you can't shock a unit in combat.
I have a sneaking suspiton that you are right on this one, I remember it coming up a while ago in one of my games, but I don't remember which way it went. dose it actually say this somwhere? I would guess that the reasoning behind it is that you can't tank shock a unit in cc because cc is a "swirling melee" and you don't want to crush your own guys... but what if there are none of your own guys to crush?Originally posted by KingBurriss@Jan 18 2005, 01:36
The unit is in combat, and you can't shock a unit in combat.
So to summarize, can Kan 1 shock Unit 1 and then subsequently assault Unit 1? As I understand it, we agree on that much...
