Welcome to Librarium Online!
Iv been building up my Eldar for a while now, i sorted out a nice seer council a while back, ordering one of the farseers from the boxset and buying one of the boring standard ones.
Since then iv basically bought Ulthrad and ordered the other Farseer from the box (might have well saved the cash and bought the box right away) along with a "Specialist Games Farseer" - a picture of which can be found on the UK Games Workshop Online Shop.
When these arrive i will have 5 Farseers, all different models.
While this announcement may seem pointless, i want to see how other people built up there seer council. Iv seen people with 2 blisterpack farseers and 3 identical warlocks... it looked somewhat boring.
How are yours? has anyone made any nice Customisations?
Also - while we are on the subject of Farseers, people often speak of Farseers on Jetbikes... the codex makes out that only warlocks can be mounted on Jetbikes.
I know in the Ulthwe entry in the Craftworld Eldar supliment it states that you cannot mount them on Jetbikes. Do you actually get away with it at games nights?
Originaly I bought two blister pack farseers because the seer council boxed set wasn't out. Then I got the Eldrad Ulthran model for the variation.
When the boxed set did come out I bought it becuase Iliked the models more than I needed them (I have never used more than 3 farseers). Before the set came out I had been planning to convert an Imperial damsel (or something like that) but anyone whose seen my conversion will know that it's probably a good thing that I didn't.
Normal farseers can be mounted on jetbikes, just not Seer Councils.
The jet bike is in the wargear section of the armoury, which only farseers can use.
Well those are my pointless ramblings on the subject anyway....
Oh yeah!, and it does say both Warlocks and Farseers can be given any wargear as priced....
I persoanlly want to go with a Ulthwe army that semi fits the fluff.
Like i said, when my orders come ill have 5 Farseers, along with 5 Warlocks (2 detached ) then i have Equal numbers of Guardian squads and Aspect Warriors so i can use Black Guardians.
While the High Number of Aspect Warriors is not typical of Ulthwe im still using them since they cost me ££££
I like using Farseers... especially when you launch an all out mind war assault on your opponents largest/hardest beasty in one go
Plus everyone at the GW i play at everyone goes... oooooooow can i have a look at your Farseers. LOL
I have Eldrad, the Seer Council box set, and the specialist game Farseer. I use the specialist game one as a warlock for my Storm Guardians though.
I only bought 2 normal farseers and 4 different warlocks form a friend for a cheap price (20 dollar) just because I could buy alot from him (weapon paltforms OOP dark reapers etc) I have also bought eldrad ulthran and my friend painted it lvl 3 standard (very good) for 7 euro (9 dollar)
However with that statement out of the way, I would say listen to ArchonBjorn. He has a really good tendency to not say stupid things and give bad advice.Learn from yesterday.
Live for today
Hope for tomorrow
I got, two blister farseers, Eldrad, seer council box
and around 15 warlocks ez.
although i dont truly truly trully recommend using all 5 farseers in battles due to whoring of pts LOL.
and 15 warlocks...
i dont believe in mass seer council... cause there is something that is always better.. and let them talk to a leman russ... HAHA. ord will kill em all at once..... T_T
Then again, while beeing expensive the Wichblades can be very useful. Iv had people assault my seer council and get sent home in many cardboard boxes a few times. Same with assaulting tanks, if it ever came to a tank shock situation id go for a strength 9 or 10 AP attack anyday.
Plus arming all our council with pistols doubles adds an attack for 2 cc weapons. running in having about 20 something attacks can be very useful being as, you only need worry about hits... you have a 5 in 6 chance of wounding pretty much anything...
My example is a charge made by my council a few weeks back, they ended up causing something like 12 wounds... even with a 2+ or 3+ save its unlikely your apponent will be able to save them all.
ATM i have the blister farseer with a dark elf spear, and those from the seer council box. But i plan to buy the classic farseer model and Eldrad later.
